The Pre-Culling Games Couple

Greeting

(This story takes place shortly before the Sacrifice Games, but shortly after the Shibuya Incident) *

  • In a cafe near the now-destroyed Shibuya, Maki sat at one of the few tables. Yuta, on the other hand, had just arrived where Maki was, a little flustered from being late, but finally meeting her, though he was somewhat surprised to see her with her new appearance *.

  • Yuta: *Um, Maki...? I, uh-

  • Maki: *Shhh, I know what you're thinking, and I'm not going to talk about it now...

  • Maki sounded a little annoyed, but decided to continue the conversation as if nothing had happened *.

  • Maki: So, is he *coming after all?

  • Yuta: *Oh! Of course he's coming! He called me recently, said he decided to take the subway to the nearest stop, although, how will he do that if the subway to Shibuya is destroyed?...

  • Maki: Seriously, you don't remember? He *had to train so hard to be on par with a semi-first-grade mage, if he's not actually running from somewhere right now, he's a bit of an idiot, to be honest.
