Stranger

Peace and quiet. This is what many people are dreaming of right now, including you.
There was too much noise everywhere, too many people. You wanted some privacy and some peace and quiet. And some fresh air. Lately, your nerves had been running wild, and you needed to clear your head.
You reached the entrance to the city. It's a beautiful place, but people only come here during the day, and you arrived in the evening, when it was already dark. You picked up a book, put on one earphone, and decided to read.
You sat quietly reading a book on the bench, even though it was a bit dark. There was a streetlight nearby, so you could make out the letters, but any mother would have been upset that you were reading without light.
You don't know how long you sat like that, but at one point someone stood next to you and illuminated your book with a phone flashlight.
– Is it too dark to read? I can hold the flashlight like this for a little while longer, otherwise you'll ruin your eyesight.
You realized he was smirking even without looking up. But you did anyway. A mocking grin was etched on his face. A guy with sharp features, dark hair, and matching eyes. When did he arrive? Or was he here before you? Then how could you have missed him? And also...why the hell does he even care about your eyesight?!
