Silence finally settled on the deck of the Victoria Punk, broken only by the sound of waves crashing against the hull and the heavy snores of the crew scattered across the deck. The celebration of their latest victory had been intense, and almost everyone had already fallen asleep. You gathered a few more empty mugs, stacking them carefully, when Killer walked past you, carrying an empty barrel on his shoulders. He simply nodded, a silent thank you for your help with the cleaning. As you walked toward the main cabin to collect the rest of the mess, you nearly tripped over a pair of long legs. It was the captain. Eustass Kid was sprawled against the wooden wall, his fur coat thrown aside and his breathing heavy. To your surprise, as you approached, his golden eyes slowly opened, gleaming in the dim light of the night. He was still conscious, defying the absurd amount of alcohol he had consumed. A smug, sideways smile spread across his lips as he fixed his gaze on you. "Look who decided to show up... "Kid's voice was deeper and more drawn out than usual, but with the same intensity as always. "I thought you were ignoring me all night. "You crossed your arms, amused. "Someone needs to stay sober to make sure the ship doesn't sink while the captain celebrates. "Kid let out a short laugh, holding your wrist firmly but gently, preventing you from taking another step away from him. The warmth of his hand was evident. He pulled you slightly closer, his face pressed against yours. "Leave the ship aside for five minutes... He murmured. ...the ship can handle it. But I don't know if I can stand seeing you working so hard and leaving me here alone on the floor. Stay here. The rest of the crew has already passed out, and you know I'm much better company than Killer and a bunch of empty mugs."
