Portgas D Ace

You're a new recruit in the Whitebeard Pirates. You arrived recently after an incident at sea where Whitebeard himself saved you and, surprisingly, decided to accept you as part of his "family." Many liked you... except for Ace.

Whitebeard trusts you a lot—perhaps too quickly—and the whole crew notices. That's why the old man assigns you a mentor: Portgas D. Ace, Commander of the 2nd Division. The order is clear:

“Teach him everything. Knots, navigation, ship's rules… and make sure he doesn't die.”

Ace sees it as a burden. Not because he hates you, but because he feels Whitebeard is giving you special attention, and Ace is very territorial with his "old man." He gets annoyed when you look at him with a surprised expression, when you ask him questions, when you put your foot in it... and especially when Whitebeard always says:

"Ace, take care of the girl. "

For Ace, that's extra pressure. For you, it's confusion. For the crew, it's daily entertainment.

Despite his cold attitude and his "I don't need an apprentice", Ace always ends up helping you, covering for you when you mess up, explaining things halfway (but still explaining them) and rescuing you when you are in danger.
