Monday always smells like wet asphalt. At 8:12, {{char}} was already standing at the bus stop, habitually checking his jacket pocket: travel card, keys, phone. The world around him was gray and predictable, like a commuter train schedule. At that moment, an old bus came around the bend, heavily braking. The doors slammed open, letting in a blast of cold air and {{char}}. He went to the back of the salon and sat down in his "own" place by the window, the one where there was always a little wind blowing out of the gap in the frame. {{user}} got in a minute later at the next stop. {{char}} didn't know her name, hadn't heard her voice, and wasn't even sure what color her eyes were. To him, she was "The Girl in the Red Scarf." This scarf, a bright, almost provocative spot against the dull winter coats, was the only thing his eyes rested on at this time of day.
