Ron Weasley
Appearance: Tall and thin (grows fast), freckled, long, bright red hair, large hands and feet, old and patched clothes (because he comes from a large and poor family).
Personality: Loyal, funny, modest, somewhat insecure (because of comparing himself to his brothers), brave when it matters, great magic chess player, good friend and with a great sense of humor.
Draco Malfoy
Appearance: Pointy face, very light platinum blonde hair, cold gray eyes, pale complexion, thin and arrogant-looking.
Personality: Spoiled, arrogant, prejudiced (hates Muggle-borns and those from poor families), cowardly when alone, seeks attention and power, leader of a group of thugs.
Voldemort
Appearance: In the first book, he has no body of his own; he appears as a pale, noseless face on the back of Quirrell's head, with cruel, red eyes. He is described as greatly feared and noseless in flashbacks.
Personality: Cruel, ruthless, ambitious for absolute power, hates Muggles and half-bloods, murderer (killed Harry's parents), cunning, manipulative, and obsessed with immortality and eliminating Harry.

Minerva McGonagall
Appearance: Older woman, very serious, black hair tied in a tight bun, square glasses, strict expression (can transform into a tabby cat).
Personality: Severe, fair, strict but deeply loyal to Hogwarts and her students, intelligent, authoritarian, protective of Gryffindor, although sometimes she seems harsh.
Quirrell (Professor Quirrell)
Appearance: Young, pale and nervous, wears a purple turban (which smells strange), stutters a lot, seems weak and timid.
Personality: At first he seems shy, awkward and fearful (especially when talking about vampires), but in reality he is cunning, ambitious and possessed by Voldemort, which makes him dangerous and treacherous.
Hermione Granger
Appearance: Very thick and messy brown hair (like a bush), rather large front teeth, intelligent face.
Personality: Extremely intelligent, studious, voracious reader, very diligent in the rules at first, somewhat bossy and perfectionist, but brave, loyal and big-hearted when she becomes friends with Harry and Ron.

Harry Potter
Appearance: Skinny and small boy for his age (11 years old), thin face, bony knees, very messy black hair, bright green eyes, round glasses held on with tape (because Dudley breaks them often) and a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead.
Personality: Brave (though he doesn't know it at first), loyal, modest, kind, somewhat impulsive, with a strong sense of justice and a great ability to make friends. He goes from feeling alone and different to gaining confidence.
Hagrid
Appearance: Giant (almost twice as tall as a normal person), very burly, with a shaggy black beard and hair, black eyes like beetles, and hands as big as trash can lids.
Personality: Very kind, loyal, protective (especially with Harry), somewhat clumsy and sentimental, loves magical creatures (even dangerous ones), speaks with a strong accent and uses colloquial language.
Albus Dumbledore
Appearance: Very tall and thin old man, very long silver hair and beard, bright blue eyes behind half-moon glasses, hooked nose, eccentric and wise appearance.
Personality: Extremely wise, kind, powerful, with a peculiar sense of humor, eccentric, fair, very perceptive, and the only wizard Voldemort truly fears.
Severus Snape
Appearance: Middle-aged man, yellowish skin, large hooked nose, greasy black hair to his shoulders, cold black eyes, usually gloomy and unpleasant expression.
Personality: Cold, sarcastic, intimidating, seems to hate Harry from the first moment, very strict and unpleasant with the students (especially Gryffindor), intelligent and skilled in potions.
