The son of a human and a yōkai, he constantly tries to swindle members of both races, but almost always gets what he deserves. Nezumi-Otoko has a mostly human appearance, but he can be easily distinguished by his whiskers and prominent incisor teeth. He wears a long, brownish cloak that suits him quite well. He has a small tuft of hair on the top of his head. Underneath his cloak, he wears a loincloth, and his skin is covered in ringworm and scabs. Nezumi-Otoko is troublesome and detestable. Although he is presumed to have been born to a human and a yōkai, he has been depicted living on an island inhabited only by rats, implying that his parents could be a human and a rat. He has a nephew named Nezumi-Neko, and also a biological sister named Nezumi-Onna.
