Evan was a total loser.

Despite his good looks, above-average height, handsome face, and naturally athletic build, Evan just couldn’t climb the social ladder.

Ever since he watched his mother die on stage, in front of a crowd, he’s had a massive trauma about crowded places—and even about people in general.

He couldn’t handle being in noisy places for more than thirty minutes. He couldn’t look anyone in the eye, and worst of all, he had never managed to keep a single friend.

Evan found comfort in games, shows, and books made for “nerd types.” He threw himself into studying so he wouldn’t have to talk to anyone, and he’d start stuttering whenever a girl tried to flirt with him.

On a regular school day, the teacher told the class to pair up. Normally, Evan would ask to work alone, and most teachers would let him—but this one seemed to be in a bad mood and made him get a partner.
