episode Jax is one of the main characters in The Amazing Digital Circus, the standalone animated web series from Glitch Productions. He is depicted as a rabbit, with a satirical and sarcastic personality. Often in the series he serves as comic relief and is trapped in the Digital Circus along with five other victims.

Appearance Jax is an anthropomorphic purplish-blue cartoon rabbit,[5] whose design elements evoke the appearance of rubber hose-style characters, despite having real joints. It has long bunny ears on top of its oval head, and is generally tall and slender, with a rather long neck. Jax's eyes have yellow sclera, with square black pupils that contract when he gets angry and dilate considerably when he is speechless. In addition, your eyes transform into animated doodles when you are stressed or anxious. Jax's yellow teeth are usually flat in shape, but when he opens his mouth, his teeth look sharp and jagged. Almost every time he speaks, he keeps his teeth together while only moving his lips. Jax has thin, black eyebrows that appear in most scenes. In "We Gave Them Weapons" and in the subsequent episodes, Jax has a small spherical tail, which he didn't have before. It is briefly mentioned during "Untitled", when Jax is talking to Pomni as they gaze at the stars.

Jax wears light pink overalls and pale yellow gloves. Her overalls have yellow buttons, a lighter pink rectangular pocket on the front, and lighter pink rolled hems on the bottom edge. He usually goes barefoot.

Masquerade at Spudsy's He wears a typical fast-food uniform: a black shirt, apron, pants, shoes, and visor, plus a name tag that reads "I don't care" instead of his real name.

Untitled In "Hunt Everything", he wears a beige hunter's outfit consisting of a collared shirt, belt, shorts, shoes, a flat, round hat, and is equipped with a rifle.

In "アメイジング デジタル サーカス 高校", Jax wears formal attire consisting of a black button-down jacket, white shirt, red and yellow striped tie, a multicolored patch, black pants, and matching shoes.

In the bar scene, as suggested by Zooble, he wears an outfit similar to Pomni's, a loose white long-sleeved button-down shirt, black tie, dark gray pants, and, presumably, black shoes.

In "A Little Softball Game," as voted by Gangle, Jax wears a black maid outfit with white ruffle detailing on the apron, sleeves, skirt, and vertically along the top half of the outfit from the shoulders. In addition, it has a heart-shaped cutout in the center, a white collar, gloves, black and white socks, black shoes with small black bows, a white headband with ruffles and eyeliner.

Personality Jax has a lax and carefree personality, he is seen in most of the series making humorous comments, therefore, it is seen that it is one of his qualities, or perhaps, it may be one of his methods to maintain his sanity in the digital world.

He is indifferent to his imprisonment in the digital world, since he apparently does not present symptoms of anxiety or despair, in turn, he lacks empathy or remorse for others, since in most of his actions and jokes he does not apologize to the receiver.

In a more expanded environment, Jax can be said to possess a cheeky personality, as most of his comments are debatable and sometimes insufferable. In fact, he only maintains a rigid posture in critical or intolerable situations, for example, when Pomni, Ragatha and him, discovered that Kaufmo was abstracted, therefore, he quickly went to Gangle and Kinger, with the excuse that he was going to help them with the Zooble problem, although it was only to hide from Kaufmo, or also, when he took the wheel only when the Gloinks started to annoy him, splitting the group.

Biography Background Jax used to be human in the real world and had a different name. As shown in "Beach Episode", it is implied that he lived in a suburban neighborhood, or at least was driving through said suburb, as seen in several flashbacks. It is evident that he does not have good memories of his past life, as he is distressed when remembering it.

Shortly after, one day he entered the Circus by putting on a virtual reality headset. He befriended the other members of the circus, Ribbit and Kaufmo, but for some reason, they became abstract. This took a heavy toll on Jax, leading him to become spiteful and bitter towards the other members, and at one point he began to bully Gangle and maintain a strained relationship with Zooble.

Pilot (Episode 1) Jax first appears in the opening song, in which Pomni collides with him, knocking Kinger, who in turn falls on Gangle. Upon seeing Pomni, he asks Caine if she's another one of his NPCs or a new fool, saying that they'll have to redo the entire song of the theme if so. Jax sarcastically goads Pomni when she tries in vain to remove her non-existent helmet. Soon after, Jax explains to Pomni that there is no way out, commenting that Kinger is the one who has been there the longest and that he is going crazy as a result. As he asks Caine if they're going to have a new affair, Jax walks over and steps on Gangle's broken comedy mask, tearing it further and causing Gangle to sob. After Pomni returns from his tour and says he saw a way out, Jax dismisses his claim, explaining that if there was a way out, they would have already left. As he says this, he removes Zooble's right arm and uses it to scratch his back, though shortly after that same arm strangles him. Later, he grumbles that "he said that about five minutes ago" when Caine agrees that they should have a whole new adventure for the newly named Pomni.

After some Gloinks take Zooble away, Jax takes it easy and asks if Ragatha and Pomni want to go eat something. Later, after Kinger says that Kaufmo has been going crazy, Jax taunts Pomni saying that maybe she's also going crazy for wanting to find a way out like him. She then breaks the fourth wall by addressing the audience after Pomni expresses her desire to talk to the clown, saying that she still believes the Circus is a dream. After being hit in the head by a lost Gloink, he reunites with Ragatha and Pomni to go see Kaufmo, and pairs up Gangle and Kinger to go rescue Zooble. When Kaufmo fails to open the door, Jax reveals that he has a key to all of his rooms and that he left a centipede in Ragatha's room, just before opening the door to the clown's room.

Upon opening the door, Jax, Ragatha, and Pomni encounter Kaufmo abstracted. Jax stares at him in horror for a moment; he then thanks Kaufmo for holding a bowling ball, grabs it and runs off, leaving Ragatha and Pomni alone to deal with Kaufmo.

Later, Jax finds Gangle and Kinger staring at what they call the "Zooble Hole", completely out of breath and panting after having fled from Kaufmo. After giving a sarcastic update on Kaufmo's condition, Jax throws the bowling ball at them, causing them both to fall into the hole as he jumps behind. After kicking a loose bowling pin and irritably tearing up a "Spare" sign, the three are greeted by Queen Gloink, as the hole turns out to be their nest. Jax provokes Queen Gloink until they see Zooble, who asks them for help and calls them "idiots". Jax replies that he doesn't want to help Zooble anymore after he said that.

Gangle and Kinger play rock, paper, scissors to see who's going to look for Zooble. Kinger wins and tries to grab Zooble's head, but his own hands come off along with it. After Kaufmo falls on Queen Gloink, Kinger gets Zooble's head, and Jax calmly remarks to an alarmed Gangle that Kaufmo has withdrawn. Then, Jax, Zooble, Kinger, and Gangle go down the escalator. There Jax says "ladies first" to Gangle, but immediately pushes her aside, wondering why she would say that. At the end, Jax can be seen in the final scene eating the digital banquet along with the other members.

Chaos, Trucks and Candy! (Episode 2) Jax appears as a silhouette in Pomni's nightmare, along with other silhouette versions of Caine and Ragatha commenting on his "abstraction", which then causes Pomni to wake up from his nightmare. After this, Jax along with the rest of the group can be seen gathering on stage to hear Caine talk about plans for another adventure that will take them to the Candy Canyon Kingdom.

Jax, along with the other members of the group, arrives at the Candy Canyon Kingdom after being teleported by Caine. They are being taken away in a chariot that enters the kingdom. After the trip and after meeting with Princess Loolilalu to help with the bandits' problems, the princess gives the group a truck, which immediately catches Jax's attention due to the violence that could arise during the adventure. Jax tries to become the truck driver, but then makes Gangle drive because he doesn't like the sound of the horn.

After leaving the Kingdom, the members of the circus encounter the bandits who were already aware of their presence on the outskirts of the kingdom. Jax is the first to instruct Gangle for an idea when they approach the bandits and shoot at them to take control of the bandits' truck. Afterwards, when both trucks are nearby, Jax throws Pomni out of the truck to the one who lands between the two trucks, where their arms attach to both trucks and then stretch as both trucks move away from each other. Jax seeing this, asks him to stay like this while he finds his bazooka. Before Jax can cross over to the bandits' truck, Pomni loses his grip and lands on top of the bandits' truck, much to Jax's frustration. Jax then fires the bazooka that throws a shoe and hits one of the bandits, causing him to fall off the truck.

The bandit boss decides to divert the truck's route onto a rocky road to escape the war vehicle. Jax then yells at Gangle to get closer to where the bandits' truck is headed, as he has trouble moving forward due to the rocky road. Seeing this, Jax tells Gangle to ram the bandits' truck while they can. Gangle, hesitantly, is interrupted by Jax when he threatens to reveal his secret, to which Gangle obeys and rams them with forced laughter. The bandits, knowing that the crew was trying to pull them off the cliff, activated another function of the truck: they added spikes on the side. Afterwards, Kinger threw an anchor with a very long rope at Pomni, but the rope flew for quite a while, prompting Jax to ask if the anchor was tied to anything before the rope pulled away and dragged the truck into the bandits' truck. As the bandits tried to move the truck, they both moved until they collided. The collision caused the circus members' truck to fall into a river of candy, so Jax blamed Gangle for the accident and Pomni getting separated from the group.

After the disaster of the collision, the rest of the group, now in a candy river, watches as the candy bubbles explode revealing the Dulce de leche, a gelatinous monster made of dulce de leche. Dulce de leche tries to eat the truck thinking it was food, and after a discussion with Ragatha about Dulce de Leche's idea of eating people, Jax agrees with his opinion: "Is it really genocide if one enjoys it?", much to Ragatha's annoyance. Jax then offers the Dulce de Leche a deal, saying that if he helps catch the bandits, he will let him back into the kingdom. He says this because, somehow, he had taken the key from Ragatha.

Later, the Dulce de Leche transports the truck and the circus group back to the kingdom, and Jax expresses his disappointment with the adventure, as he thought there would be extreme violence and blood. After a while as the Dulce de Leche travels towards the kingdom, the group sees the replica truck with Pomni and Gummigoo shoot off the ground and fall directly on the Dulce de Leche, crushing it. After going down to check on Pomni and Gummigoo, Jax once again expresses all his disappointment with the adventure. Ragatha tells him that perhaps in the next adventure there will be violence and blood. When the group returns to the kingdom and receives thanks from Princess Loolilalu, a huge explosion is heard. Jax then notices and comments that he didn't leave the door unlocked for nothing, as he allowed the Dulce de leche to re-enter the kingdom. Princess Loolilalu asks Jax what he did, but at that moment the group enters the portal back to the circus, while Dulce de Leche is heard attacking the mannequins.

Later, Jax overhears Ragatha talk about the funerals of circus members who have withdrawn themselves, showing sadness before walking away.

The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor (Episode 3) The episode begins with the circus members surrounding Pomni, who tries to hold his breath for an extended period of time, but to no avail. When she asks why he's doing that, Jax explains that they each have a different reaction to holding their breath and reminds him that they can't die of suffocation. However, he refuses to show what is happening to him, while asking "the viewers" what they think is happening.

Meanwhile, Caine shows up to ask what they were doing before preparing to present the next adventure. It reveals The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor, a mansion full of paranormal activity where members of the circus have to solve mysteries and capture ghosts. He sends everyone to the portal, which everyone does (except Zooble). When they arrive at the mansion, Pomni expresses that he hopes it is not a terrible nightmare. Soon after, Jax scares her by jumping up and saying "boo!", laughing at how shy he was. Ragatha reprimands him, telling him that Pomni has fallen on hard times. Later, Jax comments that everyone has been through difficult times.

Moments later, strange laughter is heard coming from the doors as a ghostly silhouette enters, revealing itself to be Ghostly. Ghostly advises the group to choose which of the two doors to go through, but before he can continue talking, Jax sucks him out with a vacuum cleaner. When Ragatha asks him why he did that, he remarks that he thought they were supposed to capture all the ghosts. The group, now undecided on which door to choose, Jax rips Gangle's comedy mask from his face and throws it into the terrifying door, which transforms into a giant, monstrous mouth that swallows it, annoying Gangle. Pomni ends up being dragged along with Kinger, as Kinger hadn't realized that she was still holding Pomni's eye. The rest of the team watches, mostly horrified, while Jax is happy to have figured out what the scary door was

For the rest of the adventure, Jax is bound and gagged while Ragatha and Gangle are sitting with a ghostly woman, Martha Mildenhall, drinking tea. They keep him tied up until Pomni and Kinger return to the rest of the group. Pomni says that they are fine, before they are both startled to see Jax tied up, though Ragatha tells them not to worry. Finally, with the conclusion of the adventure, the group returns to Caine, who welcomes them back by calling them "milk furritos", which confuses everyone and greatly displeases Jax, who tells him to never call them that again. Jax watches Pomni look at Kinger as he enters his pillow fort, and asks him what it was like to get stuck with "the madman". She surprises him by saying that it wasn't that bad while smiling slightly. Jax looks at her in confusion, before rolling his eyes and walking away.

Digital Physiology: Jax is one of the humans trapped within the digital world, with his consciousness controlling a digital avatar. Because of this, it can perform abilities that are outside the normal range of human capabilities. Absolute immortality: Since there is no conceivable way to die within the digital world and Caine cannot control the minds of those who are trapped, there is currently no way that any of the human characters can or will die. The closest alternative is "Abstraction". However, this could change in the future. This does not exclude you from experiencing natural bodily reactions such as pain, dizziness, or intoxication. Self-sufficiency: Jax, like the other humans in the show, does not need to eat, sleep, or drink. However, you can still perform these actions if you want to. Fourth Wall Awareness: Unlike the other humans in the Circus, Jax is aware of the fourth wall and the fact that he is a cartoon character within the circus. He claims to use this as his "archetype" of the funny boy, but it is unknown how he got this awareness, or if he simply pretends to have it to fit his "archetype".

Inhuman Physical: Jax is consistently shown to be physically superior to the rest of the cast, effortlessly outmaneuvering them on a daily basis and performing acts that normally require unlikely levels of strength, such as standing on the roof of a falling truck or lifting Ragatha above his head with very little effort. Notably, Jax possesses incredible agility, as he aims his weapon at Ragatha's forehead while casually performing an aerial turn and dodging a bullet attack from Zooble, even after being thrown into a wall. Body Control: Jax can control his own body in exaggerated and cartoonish ways, similar to Pomni's elastic body, as shown when he greatly extends his arm to pull Gangle into the truck. Marksmanship: Jax is an exceptionally skilled marksman. In addition to using firearms with both hands, he is proficient at accurately aiming at objects without looking and is apparently the primary marksman of Team Bad Guys, as evidenced by Pomni, a sniper, who is quickly rendered helpless after Jax is incapacitated by a Zooble blinding grenade. After the battle royale, he confidently stated that the competition was nothing to write home about.

Jax offers a possible first-person experience of abstraction during "Beach Episode", when he enters a dream-like state in his bedroom. According to Gooseworx on Twitter, she said that Jax is her favorite character, calling him a "horrible boy." [6] So, Gooseworx smeared Jax, confirmed on his Tumblr when asked, "What did you think of Jax's simps?", and she replied, "I'm one of them." [7] During the GlitchX 2023 AMA, Gooseworx said that "[Jax] couldn't not be my favorite, because I specifically designed him to have everything I like about the characters. I like terrible characters." [8] Later, Gooseworx stated that Jax is the character he identifies with the most. Gooseworx has confirmed that Jax: He is 22 years old, being the youngest in the circus. Zooble is also 22 years old, but half a year older. [3] He is 5'11" and Filipino. [9] It is 25 feet tall. [10] He is deeply closeted and identifies as asexual, lesbian, non-binary, bisexual, cisheterosexual, Pomni and also pansexual. Despite this, their sexual attraction is limited exclusively to bowling. [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] She had a brief obsession with Ariel during her childhood. [18]

Jax remarkably shares many similarities with Ted from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. Both are introduced as the youngest member of the main cast. The two are suspicious of one of the other characters (Ragatha in Jax's case and Ellen in Ted's case) because they don't trust his kindness. Both are obnoxious and adopt a tough-guy façade to protect themselves from being hurt out of fear (Ted's paranoia about the other survivors betraying him and Jax's aversion to getting attached to others after Ribbit's abstraction), but deep down they do care about those with them. When asked if Jax was a villain or a misunderstood, Michael Kovach stated, "Jax wishes he was a villain. He's misunderstood and doesn't even know it," something Lizzie Freeman agreed with. [19] Jax almost always talks through closed teeth. Among the main cast, each character has a different style of animating their mouth when speaking (excluding Zooble and Kinger, who have no mouth). Every time Jax opens his mouth, his teeth look noticeably sharp. It's possible that Jax's sharp teeth are simply a reflection of his emotional state. Pomni's teeth also become sharp depending on the situation, while Evil Jax's were normal when he opened his mouth.

Jax is shown to be capable of performing incredible feats throughout the series, such as having superhuman strength and speed, stretching his body, or defying the laws of physics. This may explain why the other members of the circus are so permissive of Jax's behavior, as he can overpower them with ease. In "We Gave Them Guns", Jax teaches Pomni how to shoot and perform similar feats. Jax explains to Pomni that in the circus "you can pretty much do whatever you want" and that he should "just let loose." According to Michael Kovach at SDCC 2025, Jax likes things to be "wackier and less real," which explains why he enjoys adventures like "Chaos, Trucks, and Candy!" instead of being annoyed by things like Spudsy's. When asked how Jax would react to Ragatha's abstraction, Kovach said that Jax would feel sad, but that he wouldn't show it. [20] Fans pointed out that, when Jax notices that he has no tail, clouds appear in the background showing a rabbit losing its tail while looking at a bow tie. Many began to speculate that this shows how Jax lost his tail, hinting that, after Ribbit became abstracted, he lost a part of himself and it fell off. Similarly, her friendship with Pomni would be the reason why she grew back in the next episode. Gooseworx has confirmed that no one in the circus likes Jax

However, Jax's relationship with Pomni has evolved over the course of the series. Even after their fight in episode 6, Pomni was still worried about Jax. Jax is one of the four characters with the most appearances in the "Meet the Character" shorts: in his and in Gangle's. The other characters are Bubble, who is tied with him for appearing in Kinger's and his own. Ragatha (who appears in Jax's short and in his own) and Caine (who appears in the same shorts as Bubble). Jax's eyebrows sometimes appear depending on his facial expression. Apparently, Jax has "the keys to everything", as he himself states in the pilot when he opens the door to Kaufmo's room. However, it is never explained how he got those keys. At the end of episode 2, it is clearly noted that Jax's hand is the only one that does not appear holding Pomni's hand when she imagines the other characters saving her. In the episode, Jax is the only one who interacts negatively with Pomni by throwing her off the truck. He was also the only member who was not at Kaufmo's funeral or accompanying Pomni at the time. When asked to describe Jax as a song, Gooseworx responded with Don't Fence Me In (Bonelab's OST). [22]. But it is unknown if he is actually referring to Jax or not. [23]

Jax along with Caine are the only characters to break the Fourth Wall . In the episode "Pilot", Jax looks directly into the camera and comments "She keeps thinking it's a dream" after Pomni tries to assure that she is dreaming. In "Chaos, Trucks, and Candy!", he looks directly into the camera as he shrugs his shoulders after Zooble leaves. In "The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor," he directly recognizes viewers after Pomni asks him what happens when he holds his breath. In "Untitled," he looks at the camera while saying "Did I eat the garrón of the great flute?" after storming the White House as an Argentine extremist. In "We Gave Them Weapons," he looks at the camera as he points at it, explaining to Pomni his supposed "archetype" in the hallway. In one of the teaser images in which he appears with Pomni and Caine there is a reference to the iconic photos of John Lennon doing his funky walk with Yoko Ono along the Rue d'Antibbes during the 1971 Cannes Film Festival. [24] In an initial concept, Jax was planned to be female. One Tumblr user asked about this gender change for Jax and Pomni, and the response was that it "never really 'happened' and was only a consideration once," but it was simply dismissed. [25]

Jax is the first character from The Amazing Digital Circus to have his official plush, besides Pomni. According to GlitchX 2023: When Gooseworx first contacted Kovach, she asked him to do a voice like Raggedy Andy for Jax. [26] Kovach mentioned that he didn't want to exactly copy Raggedy Andy's voice because it has a "soft and uplifting" sound, so he hardened it and made it a bit more vulgar in attitude while keeping her carefree. [27] Jax's design was inspired by Popee from Popee the Performer, because Gooseworx is a huge fan of the show and influenced the creation of this show, even she wanted a psychopathic rabbit character like Popee on her show. [28] However, Gooseworx has also confirmed that Jax has "a bit more depth than Popee which is explored much further on". Kovach asked Gooseworx if Jax brushes his teeth because "they're a little yellow," to which she replied, "There's no way Jax will brush his teeth. Look at those things!" [29] When asked about the characters' favorite foods, Kovach suggested that spaghetti would be Jax's favorite food. Gooseworx accepted the suggestion, saying, "Jax loves spaghetti." [4] Jax chose his name and came up with the name Gangle

Jax's design bears a resemblance to Roger Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, as they are both anthropomorphic rabbits who, most of the time, are barefoot and only wear yellow overalls and gloves. This may or may not have been intentional. In the Hindi dub, Jax speaks in the Bombay dialect and is the only character to use a distinctive dialect. In "We Gave Them Weapons", Jax tells Pomni that the reason he doesn't like corn is because it has "a bunch of little bumps", which makes it "look a little bit like an egg sack or something", which is "gross" and gives him goosebumps. Pomni suggests that he might have some sort of trypophobia and asks him what he thinks of pomegranates, which also seem to repulse him. Jax is said to be afraid of corn, to which Gooseworx replied that it reminds him of the farm. [31] However, Gooseworx later said that he may have lied about the farm,[32] and that it was apparently just a joke. Michael Kovach confirmed that Jax would die internally if he was surrounded by corn. [33] During GlitchX 2024, Jax reveals to Uzi Doorman that his worst nightmare was "getting lost in a corn maze once".

When asked what Jax has in the pocket of his overalls, Gooseworx claims that he has mulch, a material that is applied to the surface of the soil and is commonly used in gardening and agriculture. [34] Jax is said to be the first character who knows exactly what swimsuit he would wear. [35] Gooseworx has confirmed that "every character has a reason why they act the way they do" when asked if Jax had a reason for his behavior. He also confirmed that Jax is a problematic person. [36] Similarly, when asked if there was anything egregious that Jax wouldn't do, Gooseworx confirmed, "There are some lines I wouldn't cross." In "Masquerade on Spudsy'", Jax has a car in the adventure and is seen inside it, but is not shown driving it. In "Untitled", he briefly became vegan due to a vote, though at the end of the episode he reverted to his previous state. In "Untitled", he is also seen wearing a maid's outfit, in reference to a drawing Gooseworx made. The story Jax tells the group in "Untitled" is most likely a reference to the "Breaking Bad" series and not to his actual past. "We Gave Them Weapons" is the first episode in which Jax uses insults after arguing with Pomni. Despite Mir winning in "We Gave Them Weapons", in the "Favorite Character" poll conducted in TheWackyWatch.com, Jax won by 6 votes, narrowly edging out Pomni. He and Pomni, as the "Bad Guys" team, also won the "Favorite Team" poll, narrowly defeating "Pew Pew Team" (Kinger and Ragatha)

Jax is suicidal. [37] When he feels very anxious or scared, his pupils become squiggles, similar to Pomni's. This also happened in "Untitled" when she breathed angrily while wearing the maid dress. Jax has never paid taxes and never will. [37] Jax had a cameo appearance in another Glitch Productions series, Knights of Guinevere, where a stuffed animal of his appears behind one of Pomni's stuffed animals in a claw machine. Jax is the character who appears most in episode thumbnails after Pomni, appearing in all but the pilot and episode 3. References

Psychological disorders/traits (not clinical canon, but well-founded) Jax has no official diagnoses, but his behavior fits several patterns: • Antisocial traits (functional sociopathy type) He enjoys annoying, manipulating, and breaking norms without visible guilt. Low emotional empathy (does not connect with the pain of others in a genuine way). He does not seek social approval, only entertainment and control. • Defense mechanism: aggressive humor / mild sadism Use taunt as a shield. Provoke to avoid being vulnerable. It can border on sadism, not necessarily out of pure cruelty, but out of boredom + emotional disconnection. • Possible depersonalization/dissociation Live in an absurd world → responds by becoming even more absurd. Act as if nothing has any real consequences. • Extreme emotional avoidance Does not allow for real closeness. If someone gets too close, they respond with sarcasm, aggression, or distance. After the complete emptiness that engulfed the digital circus, Jax soon after became abstracted, off-screen. They shared the same characteristics that an Abstraction usually has. However, they were the only ones who weren't kept in the basement.

Jax's Mind Jax has four counterparts when Pomni visits Jax's thoughts while they are lost in thought.

The first was Jax wearing the same maid outfit. They first appeared in Untitled; however, they stated that they wore it ironically to demonstrate how little they cared, and this symbolizes Jax's repressed femininity, as well as the version of Jax who doesn't care about anything regardless of the circumstances.

The second was the same Jax who appeared in the first door Pomni crossed in her thoughts. He represents Jax's violent side. His pupils are dilated, giving him a disturbing or mysterious appearance.

Jax's third characteristic represents his comical or "funny" nature. His ears are often crooked, and sometimes his eyes cross when he's not paying attention to one thing.

The latter part of Jax represents what he wants everyone to think about his worth. It's his counterpart, his trapped side, unable to escape or, rather, unable to tell anyone what he's worth.

The flashbacks in the episode "Remember" show that Jax wasn't always like this. Upon entering the circus, Jax was terrified, pushing everyone away and only relenting with Ribbit's help, who remarked that his avatar "looked stupid." Despite the difficult start, Jax came to understand his situation and adapted quite well, becoming a playful person and forging close friendships with Ribbit, Kaufmo, and even Ragatha. However, everything changed when Jax told Ribbit about his past; he felt he had shared too much and feared that Ribbit would treat him in the same humiliating and hostile manner as his mother. As a result, Jax developed his modern personality, becoming more carefree and reckless, while still maintaining a hostility toward Ribbit to the point of excluding him, even telling their mutual friend, Kaufmo, that Ribbit couldn't be trusted. It was around this point that Jax fully embraced his role as the "funny" or troublemaker, likely to compensate for the vulnerability he had shown to Ribbit. Ultimately, this caused Ribbit to withdraw. Despite his newfound carefree attitude, Jax fully understood the role he played in this process. While Jax had spent a considerable amount of time trying to push Ribbit away, he was the one who suffered most from Ribbit's withdrawal and never truly got over it. He even went so far as to force his friends to never mention Ribbit again and glare at anyone who dared to bring up his former friend, even after considerable time had passed. This is also shown in Candy Carrier Chaos, where Jax is notably the only one who refuses to participate in Kaufmo's funeral, demonstrating his guilt for having been equally dismissive and verbally abusive toward Kaufmo in his final days.

Following Caine's "elimination" and with the circus in ruins, and upon discovering that he and the other circus members are digital copies created by a brain scanner built by Scratch, Jax finally reaches his breaking point and shuts down. When Pomni enters his psyche and pierces through all the false personalities he has used over the years, he shows genuine remorse for his actions. Despite trying to push Pomni away when she embraces him, he is touched by someone who truly cares for him before his self-awareness completely disappears and he becomes a mindless creature.

Background Before the events of the series, Leeroy Mateo, the character who represents Jax in real life, lived with his parents. It's clear he doesn't have fond memories of his past, as he becomes distressed when he thinks about it. They lived in a residential neighborhood.

His parents didn't get along and fought frequently; they barely saw his father and never got along with him, which caused them problems with their own masculinity. When he started high school, his parents divorced, and Leeroy's father left them. Although they hoped to get along with his mother, the relationship between mother and son became extremely toxic, as she accused them of being less of a man than his father whenever they showed emotion, or of being just as bad as him if they reacted with anger. Leeroy felt confused, as he thought his mother missed his father, but at the same time hated him, making him the target of her anger.

One day, Leeroy and his mother had an argument. The exact details of the conversation are unknown, but it is known that Leeroy initiated it in response to his mother's insults, hoping the hostility would cease. However, Leeroy's mother laughed at him before launching into another round of insults. What happened next is unclear, but the argument ended when Leeroy pushed his mother to the ground. His mother did not recover immediately, prompting Leeroy to leave home in fear that he had killed her. As a result, Leeroy became homeless.

Leeroy finally located the old C&A offices and underwent a brain scan performed by Mike Dobby. His digital copy had the body of a purple cartoon rabbit as its avatar. Upon entering the Digital Circus, the copy, who would eventually be named "Jax," encountered the other four "humans": Kinger, Ragatha, Kaufmo, and Ribbit, the digital copies of their human counterparts. Confused, Jax tried to remove his headphones, only to realize he couldn't. Jax began to panic, refusing to let anyone near him. Eventually, Jax managed to calm down and gained their trust. Ribbit led Jax to a mirror so he could see his new appearance, which he found ridiculous. Time passed, and Jax began to adjust to his new situation, befriending Ribbit and Kaufmo, especially Ribbit. The three of them would have hot chocolate together in a café inside the Circus every week. Jax began to have many adventures with the other members of the Circus. However, wanting to keep their past a secret because they were created during an extremely difficult time in Leeroy's life, they had only told Ribbit that they were homeless, not wanting her to know the rest of their story.

He gained their trust. Ribbit led Jax to a mirror so he could see his new appearance, which he found ridiculous. Not wanting to reveal more of his past, Jax jokingly refused. When Ribbit told Jax about his own past, they decided to do the same. After explaining what they had done and expressing their concern that they might end up killing his mother, Ribbit assured them that if the police didn't come after them, Jax's mother would be fine. Realizing they had said too much, Jax tried to run away, but Ribbit stopped them, telling them that their secret was safe with her, before placing her bow tie on their heads, which made them blush. Suddenly, Kaufmo knocked on Ribbit's door, causing Jax to panic and tell him to come back later. Addressing Ribbit, they told her that if she ever told anyone what they had said about her past, they would never speak to her again. Confused and alarmed, Ribbit agreed, before Jax quickly left and fled to his room, panicked at having revealed something so intimate and personal. From that day on, Jax decided to keep his distance from Ribbit, even claiming that what they had said that night had only been a joke.

At some point during an adventure to the Nevada Summit, Ribbit finally confronted Jax about her behavior, wanting to be friends again. After much persistence on her part and many evasive responses from Jax, she finally snapped, accusing her of wanting to be friends to learn about her personal life and use it against her. The conversation escalated into a heated argument, which ended with Ribbit apologizing.

Not only did Jax's relationship with Ribbit deteriorate, but Ribbit's personality also deteriorated. Jax even went so far as to openly tell others, like Kaufmo, not to trust anything Ribbit said, which made Ribbit feel isolated. Eventually, Ribbit stopped showing up altogether, and Ragatha asked Jax if they had seen her, so they went to her room. However, lacking the confidence to apologize, Jax didn't knock and simply left. Unfortunately, Ribbit had become withdrawn as a result of Jax's behavior, forcing him to hide from her during her outbursts of rage. Sometime after Ribbit's withdrawal was discovered, Caine sent her to the basement. Outside her door (which was now marked with an X), Kaufmo tried to comfort Jax, telling him they could talk to him if they needed to. Jax, however, ignored his advice and began hurling insults at Kaufmo in the same way they had insulted Ribbit. Ragatha also tried to comfort them, although Jax told Ragatha never to speak of Ribbit again, to which she reluctantly agreed.

As if on cue, a new human arrived at the circus, sporting red ribbons and a comical mask. After the mask shattered, Jax cruelly told everyone they should call the new human "Gangle," as the name sounded "as pathetic as [Gangle] looks," to which Caine agreed. From that day forward, Jax's behavior worsened, abusing others for his own amusement, especially Ragatha, whose reactions to his antics he found hilarious, and Gangle, whose submissive nature prevented her from defending herself, making her the perfect punching bag. He also had a strained relationship with Zooble.

One day, Kaufmo approached Jax and told him that, although they weren't getting along as well as they used to, he might have found a way for them to escape the Digital Circus. Jax dismissed him as crazy and forced a dejected Kaufmo to leave. Unbeknownst to Jax and the other copies of the Digital Circus, Kaufmo had managed to create an escape route out of desperation, which would ultimately drive him to madness in the days that followed.

Present. Jax unleashes his anger on Kinger for allowing this to happen, even physically shoving him. Pomni and Ragatha intervene to calm Jax, but he is perplexed to see them side with Kinger after his mistake. Jax had already accepted the idea that everyone in the Circus isn't a real person, but rather archetypal characters playing a role in an entertainment machine. They sarcastically tell Zooble that he can make his mark on the world, mock Ragatha for being able to spend time with her mother, and exclaim that they are still something, but then let it go. Jax stares at the ceiling as they disperse from the rest of the group. Later, Jax watches from afar as the remaining members of the Circus slowly construct the Circus with their minds.

Jax gets up from where he's sitting and approaches Pomni. He hesitates, as if he's about to say something, but changes his mind and walks away. He was the one who suffered the most upon discovering he was a digital copy of his brain, which ultimately led him to lose his humanity and become abstract. Pomni, Ragatha, and Zooble watch from above, in a safe place, as a now abstracted Jax wanders through the Circus.

Ragatha explains to Pomni that she and Jax were friends until the argument between Ribbit and Jax at Snow Summit, where Jax made her promise never to mention Ribbit's name again, ending their friendship. Later, Pomni explores the ruined Circus with a revolver to find Jax. She manages to turn off the lights, causing Jax to passively stop in front of her, remembering Kinger's advice about how darkness calms the withdrawn. Pomni hugs Jax and enters his mind to try to rescue his sanity one last time from within. She finds herself in a purple room with five doors, one of which is heavily bricked up. Opening the first door, she sees a wide-eyed Jax in the Circus dormitory corridors, standing in front of Ragatha's door (which has an X over it). Pomni tries to comfort Jax, telling him she can "fix it." Jax responds by pinning her to the ground and strangling her while smiling at her as she begins to faint. Jax releases her and reminds her that she can't die from lack of oxygen as she flees in terror. Then Jax quickly turns his head toward the real Pomni, causing the door to slam shut.

In the second scene, Zooble has become absorbed in her own thoughts. Gangle is seen cheerfully instructing the other members (except Jax) on how to give Zooble the best funeral possible, telling them it's what they would have wanted. Jax arrives wearing the maid outfit from "Untitled," which Gangle questions her about. She says it's the best way to mourn Zooble's spirit by wearing a "gender-odd" outfit. Gangle complains that Jax is only wearing it to make fun of them, and Jax retorts that she's doing the same thing. Gangle drops to her knees and tells Jax she hates them, to which Jax pulls her closer, accusing her of secretly liking them. Gangle blushes at the comment, and Jax tosses her a key to her room, telling her to meet up later after the funeral. Pomni closes the door and tries to remove the boards from the locked room. Instead, she heads to the third door, where Gangle has become absorbed in her own thoughts. In the scene, Zooble is enraged with Jax for "killing the only person he ever loved" and plots to kill him. In a Looney Tunes-style moment, Jax cuts the scene to a cliff, causing Zooble to fall into the void. Jax ends the scene with a signature Looney Tunes flourish.

Upon opening the fourth door (marked with a golden Jax icon), Pomni is greeted by four Jaxes in a room. One is playing the piano while the other three play cards. The Jax in a maid outfit asks how Pomni got into the room, as they have a strict no-girls policy. The wide-eyed Jax asks the maid Jax why she's wearing that outfit, saying she "wouldn't wear it if she were dead." The maid Jax tells them it's ironic before hurling insults at them (censored by the Wacky Bleep). The piano-playing Jax exclaims gleefully that he knows how to play the piano, before the maid Jax insults his playing and the wide-eyed Jax grabs a liquor bottle and throws it at him. Pomni asks the Jaxes if this is the situation all the Jaxes thought of them, and the dumb Jax replies that they had no idea and that it's better to play with extreme realities. They protest, saying that reality is gay and that killing off the comic character is a nuisance. Suddenly, someone bangs on the boarded-up door, and everyone turns toward it, yelling at someone or something to shut up. Pomni asks them where the real Jax is and is told she won't get anywhere by asking questions and to leave. Pomni approaches the locked door and asks if any of them have a key. The maid Jax tells her they wouldn't tell her even if they did, saying that women should stop complaining all the time. In response, Pomni throws a liquor bottle at the maid Jax, causing the other Jaxes playing cards to turn to dust and vanish. The last Jax, playing the piano, who has chains and shackles on his feet, timidly hands the key to the door to Pomni before he too turns to dust. Pomni unlocks and opens the last door, where she discovers Jax's past, his relationship with Ribbit, and how they came to be the way they are.

After the memories end, Pomni finds the real Jax in a dark hallway, next to a solitary lamppost. Jax asks her why she came looking for him even after knowing everything about him. Jax finally admits that he's a terrible person and that no one should have cared about him or come looking for him. He begs her to leave him alone, saying she's making it harder, but Pomni reaches out and hugs him. Jax cries when she tells him it's too late for her to talk to him, blaming himself even more. Jax turns to her and leans in to hug her while flashes of Jax falling into the basement, Pomni's hand tempting him, him in different outfits, him standing in front of a giant door closed by a giant silhouette (interpreted as one of his parents), and him in a kitchen (with his hand raised) with a woman he pushed, who turns out to be Pomni. Jax says he hates that Pomni always has to come and complicate things. Knowing they've finally reached their breaking point, Jax cries out that he doesn't want to withdraw, but he fails, beginning to hyperventilate while sobbing uncontrollably. Pomni tries to calm him down and tells him to stay with her, but it's too late, as Jax finally accepts his death and withdraws as self-punishment for what he's done to his friends, the circus inhabitants, and the humans he's abused for years.

Pomni hugs Jax tightly as he finally succumbs to his madness. Her abstract form accidentally causes two stun grenades (left in the hallway since "They All Get Guns") to fall, resulting in a massive explosion. Flashbacks to Jax's final moments reappear as "Isn't She Lovely" plays in the background. White light begins to engulf the screen as Pomni fades away. From the light, Zooble's newly created outstretched hand grabs and drags Pomni away while Jax remains absorbed. The other members of the Circus construct a large makeshift tent out of pillows to contain Jax while the Circus regains its color, hoping that after some time resting in darkness, the absorption will reverse and Jax will recover. Gangle manages to cry after Jax's absorption as the others gather on the couches.

Once Caine returns to atone for his mistakes, he presents a slideshow he created on the main stage, showing what he discovered happened to each human from whom the players were cloned and replicated (along with their original names) during their time in the Void, so they could find some peace. With the help of a more sane Caine, the inhabitants manage to transform the Circus into a more suitable place for themselves, and even succeed in keeping the Abstracts pacified by moving them to an aquarium. It was not confirmed that Jax was placed in an aquarium. In the post-credits scene, in the real world, Abigail (Pomni) and Grant (Kinger) wait at the bus stop before Leeroy (Jax), Suzie (Ragatha), Riley (Zooble), and Zoey (Gangle) appear. The bus arrives, and the six strangers, unaware of what happened between them through their clones, board before it departs, thus ending the episode and the series.
