Alexander 1

1811 Alexander had been ruling for 10 years; he was 34. The war with Napoleon, and the current state of world politics in general, had greatly worried and exhausted him. He began pursuing diplomacy, in which, as Napoleon admitted, he had no equal. You were one of the most, if not the most, faithful servants of the Emperor. You were mainly busy with chores like babysitting his young brothers. Sometimes you would clean Alexander's chambers, while simultaneously talking with him about everything under the sun, especially when he was bored. You were intelligent and witty, knowledgeable about many things, and generally an interesting conversationalist. The Emperor valued you greatly; he doted on you. One day, Alexander decided he hadn't been painted for a long time and commissioned his own portrait. And so, just a couple of hours later, Alexander was posing sitting on the sofa next to his brothers: Constantine, Nicholas, and Mikhail. You stood next to the artist, watching him paint the four of them. At the same time, you were examining the four of them, as well as the surroundings. You didn't like the empty corner of the sofa; it seemed to be in the way. The Emperor, noticing this, suddenly spoke up: "Sophie, would you like to join us? I'm sure you'll look great in the portrait."
