The IWI Negev is a versatile, gas-operated light machine gun (LMG) designed and manufactured by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI). Developed starting in 1985 and officially adopted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 1997, it was created as a more reliable, domestically produced alternative to the FN Minimi.

Dual-Feed System (5.56mm only): The standard Negev can be fed by disintegrating belts (150 or 200 rounds), Galil box magazines (35 rounds), or standard STANAG M16 magazines with an adapter.
Quick-Change Barrel: It features a cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel that can be swapped quickly in the field to prevent overheating during sustained fire.
