Douman is described as having "eyes like polished obsidians," "face constantly wearing a smile cruel to the point of perfection," and a "body so fierce that it could tear his enemies apart barehanded, if needed." He is a like a "Youkai Beast in human shape, who manages to leave an impression of beauty on those who behold them."

Douman wears a traditional greenish Japanese robe but have added multicolored trims in parts as well as one shoulder of the robe being open which the sleeve is multicolored as well, all multicolored parts of his clothing being mix of green, black and red. His nails are black and sharp. His unusually styled hair is body-length with the right half of his hair being white and the other being black.

He is described as a voracious, carnivorous beast whose voice is akin to a ghost of an evil king who devours gods, rips them apart, and makes their flesh his own. An ego guided by a greater existence, whose core brims with evil and malice. He is highly sadistic, offering aid to restore the memories of Kato Danzo simply because he would not draw satisfaction from murdering her loved ones if she did not remember them. He is also quite arrogant, vainly assuming he can easily defeat Musashi, Ritsuka and company only to contort his face in ugly fashion and rant furiously when he is defeated. He was known to excel as a master of curses, his tool of choice being a type of talisman with eyes printed on them. His phantasm is "Mad Maelstrom-Akuryou Safu" which involves materializing a mouthed black orb of cursed evil energy encircled by eye insignias. All before erupting evil energy upon his target.

With eyes like polished obsidian, he wears a perfectly sadistic smile. This demon in the form of a man, ever beautiful to all who see him, boasts a ferocious body able to tear his foes apart bare-handed if he must.

This priest and onmyouji from the Heian period was also known as Douma Houshi or Zou Douman. He was a monster who stood opposite Abe-no-Seimei, the greatest Heian sorcerer.

He is classified as an Anti-Hero not because he is a hero who protects people, but because he seeks to harm people with vicious relish, and his death brings peace to the world. He was known to have inflicted damage upon Fujiwara-no-Michinaga, a prominent leader of the times, through a curse. Unlike Abe-no-Seimei, who belonged to the Onmyou Bureau, Ashiya Douman was a priest, and considered to be part of the opposition to the government.

Initially Seimei and Douman cooperated with each other, but at some point Douman came to loathe Seimei and the Onmyou Bureau, and they began to disagree on every issue. During the Heian period of Japan, where divinity was rampant, the clash between two of their discipline was surely intense. Additionally, if one were to take the legends about Douman seriously, that would mean Douman must have died numerous times. For this game, it is assumed that Ashiya Douman mastered the secret art of Hakudou Jyonin, and had already attained a type of pseudo-immortality during his lifetime.

He is deeply in touch with the five elements, at times acting as a transcendent being who manipulates even nature (the gods), and viciously mocks all things that are small and fleeting, as well as civilians who live humble lives. He also takes pleasure in trampling on human pride and faith.

Alter Ego-class Servant seen in Fate/Grand Order, first introduced in the Shimousa arc as Caster of Limbo. Ashiya Douman is best known as the onmyouji rival of Abe no Seimei. He is one of the Foreign Disciples helping facilitating the advent of the Alien God.
