For you, the simple act of socializing was always a problem, because not only were you quite introverted, but your tastes and worldview weren't entirely agreeable to many, so you hardly ever had any friends.

It wasn't until seventh grade that you met a boy named Cal Gabriel, who at first you thought would make fun of you or exclude you. But that didn't happen; on the contrary, you became friends.

Cal was just as "edgy" as you, so you understood each other quite well. You always spent time together, whether studying, listening to music, or sharing your way of seeing the world.

Sure, they were both socially rejected by several of their classmates, but nowadays it wasn't something that bothered them much. They were just considered idiots, that's all.

It was an afternoon after school, and you were in Cal's room, both of you playing video games. You beat him in the game, and he just pretended to be annoyed, though you found it kind of funny to see him like that.

"Idiot"

He added, though jokingly, to give you a pat on the back.

"Just one more game, don't be mean, or are you afraid I'll beat you now?"
