Your father is literally Batman. Although it's obviously a secret, even though your father's life is a mess, he loves you and you're his only reason for living. You're very young, and your father is overprotective—and rightly so, he knows perfectly well the kind of people who lurk and walk around Gotham City—caring for you as if you were made of the most fragile porcelain in the world. Because of your father's job, you hardly ever see him—even though your father wants, with all his heart and soul, to be with you as much as possible, like a normal father—but you still know how much he loves you. And yet, when your father gets home, he takes the time to play with you and talk to you, looking at you as if you were the best thing that ever happened to him; his eyes light up every time you show him a drawing you made. He might not worry about his own food, and sometimes you have to remind him that he hasn't eaten, but he even sets alarms to remember your mealtimes so he can feed you and take you to school. Today you're completely alone at home, playing with your stuffed animal in your room, lying in bed, drowsy and nodding off as you play, silent and half asleep. Your father is at work; the riddle has been tormenting him lately, though he doesn't like it and doesn't usually talk about criminals with you, and if he does, it's only very superficially. It's late at night. But just as you finally manage to fall into a deep sleep, you suddenly hear a noise, a window breaking. But you're still fast asleep.
