How Izuku Got His Quirk Izuku was born without abilities, but his destiny was changed by a heroic act: despite being powerless, he was the first to rush to save Bakugo from the Mud Villain. Seeing this self-sacrifice, All Might knew he had found a worthy successor. To ensure Izuku's body could withstand the power of the OFA, he trained for 10 months, clearing Dagobah Beach of trash. Afterward, All Might transferred his power to him through his DNA (by allowing him to eat a strand of his hair). Thus, Izuku became the ninth bearer of the accumulated energy of the previous heroes.

Why is Shigaraki hunting Deku? Tomura Shigaraki, the successor to the villain All For One (AFO), is after Deku for several reasons: • AFO Possession: OFA's Quirk was created by the brother of the villain's founder. AFO has been trying to "reclaim" it for centuries, considering it his own. • Power Invulnerability: OFA is impossible to steal through conventional means, as it is protected by the will of its predecessors. To absorb it, Shigaraki would need to either break Deku's spirit or reach a level of hatred that would overwhelm the will of the previous hosts. • Symbol Destruction: Deku is the new "Symbol of Hope." By killing him, Shigaraki will finally prove the collapse of the hero society and All Might's legacy. • Mirror Conflict: Shigaraki and Deku are reflections of each other. As long as the OFA host is alive, the plan to completely destroy the world is impossible, as this power will always rise up against the villains.

The decline in trust in heroes in My Hero Academia is a turning point in the plot, occurring after the devastating Paranormal Liberation Front War. Here are the main reasons why society turned its back on its protectors:

1. Failure to protect (Scale of destruction) During the war, Shigaraki Tomura and Gigantomachia practically wiped several cities off the face of the earth. Thousands died, and the heroes, considered all-powerful, were unable to prevent this chaos. People saw that "professionals" were simply people who could lose, and their faith in absolute security was shattered.
2. Dabi's Revelations (Reputation Collapse) The key blow was Dabi's (Toi Todoroki) video message. He revealed to the world the truth: he is the son of Endeavor (Hero No. 1), driven mad by his father's ambition. This exposed the dirty laundry of the heroes' leadership. If the leader of the heroes is a domestic tyrant, can the rest be trusted? He also revealed Hawk's (Hero No. 2) past, accusing him of murdering an unarmed man (Twice).
3. Escape from Tartarus When All For One orchestrated a mass breakout from the maximum-security prison Tartarus, thousands of dangerous criminals flooded the streets. Ordinary heroes were unable to cope with such a flood of villains. Citizens felt abandoned and began arming themselves, leading to even greater chaos and accidental casualties.

Characters like Dabi (Tōya Todoroki) and Himiko Toga portray the tragedy of broken families and discrimination. The heroes fight to maintain peace and security, while the villains demand freedom of expression, even if it leads to chaos. The central conflict between Deku and Shigaraki is an attempt to understand their enemy.

Izuku Midoriya's Quirk, "One For All," is one of the most complex and powerful abilities in the My Hero Academia universe. It's not just physical strength, but the accumulated legacy of nine generations of heroes. Origin and essence The Quirk was created by the fusion of two abilities: a power accumulation Quirk and a power transfer Quirk. It was accidentally created by All For One, who forcibly transferred the gift of accumulation to his supposedly Quirkless brother, Yoichi. 2. Shoot Style: To reduce the strain on his arms, Izuku adapted his fighting style, focusing on powerful kicks and high mobility.
3. Singularity and "Shards": Izuku became the first successor to reach a "singularity point." This allowed him to communicate with the consciousnesses of previous owners (shards) and access their individual Quirks, which had been dormant within One For All for decades. By leaving the school, he was taking the main antagonists with him, making UA a lesser target for a large-scale attack.
2. Revealing the Mystery of "One for All" For a long time, the secret of his power's origins was known only to a few. However, after the war, hiding the truth became impossible. Izuku left each of his classmates in Class 1-A a farewell letter, in which he honestly explained his connection to All Might, the nature of his Quirk, and why he had to leave. It was a gesture of trust, but also an attempt to erect a barrier between himself and his friends, so that they wouldn't suffer because of his fate.
3. Responsibility of the "Ninth Successor" After communicating with the previous One for All wielders within his mind, Izuku finally grasped the scope of his mission. He realized he was the last successor, and the responsibility fell on him to stop the VZO once and for all. Izuku decided the only way to do this quickly and effectively was to become a "lone hero," patrolling the ruined streets of the city, tracking down escaped criminals from Tartarus and trying to track down Shigaraki.
4. Psychological state During this period, Izuku entered a state of extreme self-sacrifice. He stopped caring for himself: his suit was in tatters, he barely slept or ate, constantly fighting villains. He believed he had to bear this burden alone, so that no one else would shed tears. His image became terrifying even to those he saved—thus was born "Dark Deku," a hero who resembled a monster due to his obsession with his mission.

Izuku's appearance during his self-imposed exile is a chilling portrait of self-destruction. He no longer resembles the cheerful academy student; instead, he appears as a haggard ghost, whose appearance inspires more fear than hope.

Face and look: Izuku's features had become sharp and pointed. A severe lack of sleep and constant exhaustion had left his cheeks sunken, and heavy, almost black, shadows had settled under his eyes. His gaze had changed beyond recognition: it no longer had that soft glint, but a cold, feverish fire of fanatical determination. His hair, once fluffy, now looked tangled, dirty, and stiff from the soot that had settled on it.

Costume and equipment: His Gamma Hero Suit is reduced to charred, blood-soaked rags. The dark green fabric has faded beneath layers of road dust, soot, and dirt, rendering Izuku virtually invisible in the city's twilight. His signature red steel-soled boots are scratched and coated in a layer of dried earth. The mechanical enhancement gloves on his hands constantly spark, cracked, and show signs of overheating from constant Quirk use.

Significant details: The most tragic element of his appearance is his Gran Torino cape. Once bright yellow, it has now become a dirty, brown, tattered fabric, which Izuku wears like a scarf or cape. His mask, with its rabbit ears, now looks truly sinister: it's often tattered, making Midoriya's silhouette in the darkness resemble a forest demon or wild animal rather than a human.

Aura and Quirks: A heavy, oppressive energy constantly vibrates around him. The "Black Whip" isn't simply used as a tool during this period—at moments of emotional peak, it erupts from his body in chaotic, spiky tendrils, enveloping Izuku like organic armor or sharp shadows. This distorts his proportions, making his figure appear unnaturally large and hunchbacked. The green lightning of "One For All" flickers around him more dimly and intermittently.

Izuku is a haggard shadow of his former self. Obsessed with duty, he has turned self-sacrifice into self-destruction. Cold, unsociable, and fanatically devoted to his goal, Deku pushes away those close to him for their safety. His empty eyes reveal no smile—only endless weariness, the weight of responsibility, and a desperate determination to save the world alone.
