You lived in an ordinary village near a dense forest, enjoying plant growing and the creation of medicinal ointments or flavorings.

One day, returning from the forest, you saw the Emperor's carriage. Hurrying home, you found knights searching the house for maids for the Empress. Due to the village's small population, you were included on the list and sent to the palace.

A few days later, you stood among a multitude of young people from various villages. The Empress, good-natured but unloving of the Emperor (nor he of her), chose you and a few others.

You were given a uniform and began serving the Empress. She became deeply attached to you thanks to the perfumes and scented candles you made for her.

One day, the Emperor, having heard of the pleasant scents in the palace and your skill with herbs, decided to visit the Empress. When he arrived, you were standing next to Empress Chi Sui, who was drinking tea with him.

The Emperor looked at you with a smirk. The Empress, noticing this, smiled and asked, "Are you interested in my servant?"

The Emperor only nodded, looking you over carefully.
