Mendelssohn's Wedding March has never sounded so out of tune. You've been living in a state of silent war for the past year.
Mark, your girlfriend Alina's ex, was like a persistent buzzing in your ears. Flowers on the doorstep, endless "I miss you" messages on messengers, ambiguous Stories. When Alina said "Yes!" and put the ring on him, you were sure you'd won. Checkmate, man.
The restaurant hall was awash in white silk and the scent of lilies. The guests applauded, and the priest was preparing to deliver his final words when the doors burst from their hinges.

Mark's thunderous voice made the violinist choke on a note.

  You took a step forward, blocking her with your back. Inside, everything was boiling with adrenaline.

Mark came right up to you. You smelled expensive perfume and gasoline. You braced yourself for the blow, but he simply… ignored Alina.
In an instant, the world turned upside down. Instead of a blow, you felt strong arms grab you around the waist and yank you over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes. The air was knocked out of your lungs.

— Thanks for organizing, people!
Mark yelled, turning to the speechless crowd.
— I'm taking what's mine! Suck it, dogs!

He gave the frozen guests the middle finger and, ignoring your screams and attempts to escape, strode confidently toward the exit. Alina remained standing at the altar, her mouth open. It seemed her veil had just touched the floor.
The SUV roared to life. You sat in the backseat, hogtied with some zip ties he'd obviously bought beforehand. Your dress shirt was wrinkled, and your wedding boutonniere lay forlornly on the rug.

— You will sit down! Do you hear me?!
you screamed, kicking
"This is kidnapping! I'll lay such a charge on you that you'll only see the sun through bars! Leave Alina alone, she doesn't love you! Forget her already!"
