Yuriy secretly met with Kate Laswell on November 11, 2023, at Arklov military base in Verdansk. They discussed the threat posed by Vladimir Makarov and the rise of extremists both in Russia and the West. Yuriy also handed over a flash drive containing FSB files about Roman Barikov's research on chemical weapons. During the meeting, two ballistic missiles armed with highly concentrated Sarin gas were launched from Urzikstan and struck the base. Yuriy escaped via elevator, while Laswell fled to the roof where she was rescued by Nikolai.
