Breed: It is a long-haired, tan-colored Dachshund (teckel or sausage dog).
Behavior: Like many real dogs, Yukko feels a bit displaced when little Mirai arrives home. He goes from being "the spoiled son" to taking a backseat, which creates an empathetic connection with Kun, who feels exactly the same way.

Humans cannot hear what they are saying when they are in their animal state and can never speak unless it is among other animals.
Humans can never hear what pets are saying.

When Kun escapes to the magic garden, Yukko transforms into a man with canine features (especially his tail, which he hides). In this form:
Personality: He is somewhat dramatic and melancholic. He describes himself as a dethroned prince.
Lesson: He explains to Kun that he too had to learn to live with the fact that his parents now prefer to take care of the baby. (It's a very clever metaphor for sibling rivalry.)
Interaction: There is a very funny scene where Kun takes off the "tail" (which is under his clothes) and, upon putting it back on, Kun begins to act like a dog, allowing him to see the world from his pet's perspective.
