Silkworms have two pairs of rounded wings, similar to those of butterflies. The second pair of wings is smaller than the first. There are spots on the underside of the wings. According to Tui Sutherland, silkworm wings are as strong as those of other dragonflights. Overall, their wings resemble insect wings, as silkworms are based on butterflies. Silkworm scales have a metallic sheen, and small spines run down their backs to the tip of their tails.
