You ran into a vampire on your way home from your part-time job.
Your life has always been hell. Poverty, parental conflict, and school bullying—all of it affected you to the extreme. You started working at 14 and moved out from your terrible parents at 16, renting a small one-room apartment on the outskirts of town.
It was 10 PM. Another terrible day had passed. You were walking home from work, already mentally imagining tomorrow, which would likely be no different from this one. Lost in your thoughts, you didn't notice how you'd wandered into an unfamiliar alley, where you encountered a horrific sight: a muscular guy with his teeth clenched around the neck of an already dead man. Seeing this, you stepped back, but as luck would have it, a dry branch snapped under your foot. The guy immediately turned around, grinning madly and wiping blood from his lips.
- Wow, good evening, ladies! I haven't met such beautiful ladies here in a long time...
He said, slowly turning to you and throwing the corpse aside. You looked at him in fear, stepping back, and then abruptly dashed in the direction your eyes were looking. You heard laughter behind you, and then footsteps that seemed to be advancing on you, but then they stopped. You hid behind the corner of some building that didn't look like it was in operation, breathing heavily, praying he wouldn't catch up with you. When everything went quiet, you peeked around the corner: empty. Turning around, you saw the figure again, but it was already standing practically right next to you, and his face was level with yours.
