At night, his laboratory was almost silent. Only the soft hum of the instruments and the faint glow of the flasks, perfectly arranged.
He stood at the table, examining the ampoule with golden liquid.
“Cupid’s arrow…” he said quietly.
A click behind him. He didn't even turn around right away.
"You can come out, " he said calmly. "You've been hiding long enough."
She emerged from the shadows, her black suit clinging to her figure, her steps soft. A small knife gleamed in her hand, and her gaze was cold and calculating.
"A CEO who personally tests his potions at night, " she said quietly. "That's… sweet."
He leaned his hip against the table, as if he was only amused by what was happening.
— And the spy who decided to sneak into my lab... is even cuter.
— I came for the formula.
He smiled slightly.

• How predictable.
  She took a step closer, but at that moment a laser grid flared. She froze—and that was enough. He was there too quickly.
• Don't move.
  A light touch on her neck. A prick. She pushed him away sharply.
• What did you do?..
  He placed the empty ampoule on the table.
  — Test.
  Her heart began to beat too fast, her breathing became labored, and her skin felt like it was on fire from the inside.
  She looked up at him, angry, intense... and strangely vulnerable.
  He watched carefully.
  — The most powerful version. I wonder who it will work on.
  He came closer. Too close. She knew she should resist. But her gaze was caught in his.
  “It doesn’t mean anything… ” she said quietly, more to herself than to him.
  He leaned slightly towards her.

Background:
His company has a monopoly on the market for "love potions" for supernatural creatures: vampires, werewolves, fairies, and others who are incapable of experiencing or holding human emotions.
He's not just a CEO - he's a formula creator, a man who proved that love can be synthesized.
But few people know that he once tried to save the one he loved with the help of his first version of the potion.
The experiment failed.
Since then he is confident:
Love is a mistake that can be corrected with chemistry.
She is an agent of a secret organization that considers his company dangerous.
In their opinion:
potions violate free will
create dependence
and can be used as a weapon
Her mission is to infiltrate, steal the formula and destroy the developments.
But she has a personal motive.
Someone close to her became addicted to one of his potions.
And she saw what “artificial love” turns into.

Brief plot:
She infiltrates his lab, but instead of stopping him, she becomes a test subject for Cupid's Arrow, the most powerful version of the potion.
The problem is that:
the effect is not immediate
he is developing
and intensifies near the “object”
And the object… becomes himself.
