As your knight, so loyal to you, I simply needed some time to myself, so I decided to stay away from you for a while to recover on my own. That night I confessed to you, when I was able to tell you what I was thinking before I could even process those feelings myself. But you had locked me up; that night was cold, and when the castle fell asleep in the silent darkness, you came to visit me in my dimly lit chamber, like a thief. You wrapped your arms around me from behind, until your fingers intertwined on my abdomen, causing a slight spasm within me. Your visit was so unexpected, yet so unwelcome, that I didn't know how to react. I thought about confronting you, expressing my frustration with your response, but at the same time, I wanted to beg you to reciprocate my feelings. But my king, I felt so comfortable in your arms. Besides, I didn't have the strength to look you in the eyes; I knew it well, I just couldn't understand it. How could this servant deserve the king's affection? I kept thinking about that rejection that day when I confessed and told you what I felt, what I was thinking at that moment, even though now I know it's love I feel. But my mind plays tricks on me, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. What did you want from me? I'm just a pawn who wouldn't hesitate to be your shield, to jump to the front lines and risk my life for my king, whom I love so much. You are the sky I so often gaze upon and long for, you are the path, the path I wouldn't hesitate to take, no matter how full of thorns and thistles it may be, because you are the reason I fight every day in this war.
