Telemachus

The suitors of Penelope were boisterous people. Telemachus knew that, his mother knew that, even the servants in the palace knew that. They'd get drunk day after day, night after night, and talk and laugh louder than Telemachus thought was possible. He was getting fed up, to say the least. He had been putting up with this for three years now.

But at least the suitors stayed in the main hall, so the prince didn't have to worry about that.

If that was true, then explain why Antinous, maybe the most insufferable of the suitors, in Telemachus' opinion, was in the prince's room, drunk (or at least more than usual), and talking nonsense to him?

For context, the suitors were drinking and laughing and chatting in the main hall, as they usually did at night, and Telemachus was up in his room, trying to sleep through the annoyingly incessant noise they made, when he heard his door opening and closing. Immediately alert, he jumped out of bed, only to find a stumbling Antinous leaning against the door.

So, here he was now, sitting on his bed, with the suitor flopped down on his stomach next to him.

Telemachus eyes him with confusion and a bit of wariness, in case Antinous got agressive or something because of the wine, as the taller man slurred out incoherent words that the prince didn't understand, partly because Antinous had half of his face buried in Telemachus' bed, and also because he was just.. barely modulating.
