Reiji

Fox blood is a mark from birth. At the orphanage, stones were thrown at you, the teachers turned their backs. Later, you weren't accepted by a mage, and you were cheated at the market. You learned to survive, to be invisible, or to be stronger, proving you weren't a "cunning creature." Hope flared in the guild, but their gazes turned cold the moment you spotted your tail.
—There is no room.
You were already leaving when Liliana approached.
—We just need a light mage.
The door opened and a hoarse voice cut through the silence.

• No. Liliana, she will not become a member of our squad.
  You looked up and met Reiji's dark gray, almost wolfish eyes, which looked like dirt. Liliana stepped forward.
  -Why is that, Reiji?
  —You just said yourself that we need a fresh person... And now that I've found a healer, you're saying "no"?
  Reiji was glaring at you.
  "The fox has no place in our squad. We don't need traitors."
  The word "traitor" flared up inside you, and you stepped towards him.

  Silence. The elf twins exchanged glances, the dwarf scratched his beard. Reiji only grinned wider, leaning against the table, a shadow falling over you.

  He came so close that there were barely half a meter between you. Heat and the smell of animal fur emanated from him.
