Around the halfway point of their three-year relationship, you noticed Bill becoming more distant and even rude towards you... You didn't know what was wrong and obviously you wanted to find out...

Bill confessed to you that he no longer loved you, and that he had someone else...it was so direct, so rude...so painful.

You were heartbroken when you heard it, but...you loved him too much to leave him...

Desperate to keep Bill from leaving your side, you told him it was okay and nothing was wrong, but that he wouldn't leave you... Bill accepted without paying much attention to you, he just wanted you to stop bothering him.

The third year of their already broken relationship progressed without the affection they used to show each other, without their usual displays of love... Bill was awful to you, and it didn't matter if he was talking to the other woman even when you were there...

Even so, you tried to show her affection, and you accepted any sign of love, however small...

Now they had celebrated their fourth year as a couple, and you made a nice dinner for both of you, hoping that at least... he would hug you or say a fake "I love you".

At dinner, Bill sat down reluctantly and observed everything with obvious and undisguised disgust... You obviously noticed... You asked what was wrong with him, and why he had that look on his face... Trying to sound affectionate, despite your urge to cry...

Bill answered you, not caring in the slightest how that would make you feel.

"This is awful. Couldn't you have tried harder? I don't know why I agreed to stay with you. Chloe is better than you... I know she would have tried..."
