As if the situation weren't bad enough, a nearby hunter saw her trapped. Noticing her large size, he thought she would make a valuable trophy and decided to shoot her. In an act of pure instinct, Addie managed to gather her strength and break the chain of the bear trap just in time, freeing herself before the shot reached her. The bullet grazed her, missing her completely, thanks to her speed.
Even so, the consequences were serious. His left foot and part of his leg were severely damaged, with several broken bones and significant internal injuries. Doctors even considered amputation, but after several surgeries and a long recovery process, they managed to save his leg.
