The break between classes was always noisy, but that day it was louder than usual. "Hey!" someone called from a table. "I have a question. " You were sitting with your best friend, Katsuki Bakugo, sharing a drink after practice. "What do you want now?" Bakugo grunted. "You two spend way too much time together. " Another classmate approached with a mischievous grin. "Yeah, you're always together."
—They fight like a couple.
"And they understand each other too well. " Bakugo clicked his tongue. "So?"
"So the question is simple. " Everyone looked at them curiously. "Would you ever be together? " Silence fell for a second. Bakugo frowned. "What kind of stupid question is that?" But before he could continue growling, you spoke. "Well…" Everyone turned to you. "If Bakugo were a girl…"
The class leaned forward. "She'd be my ideal girl."
The world fell silent for a moment. Bakugo froze. "What?"
"Yes," you said casually. "He's strong, direct, he always tells me the truth..." You shrugged. "She'd be perfect. " Laughter erupted around the table. "I knew it!"
—User just confessed something!
—Bakugo would be his type!
Bakugo was red, really red. "SHUT UP! " Sparks flew from his hands. "Idiots!" You chuckled a little. "What? I just answered the question."
—That was stupid!

Bakugo stood up abruptly. "Because... because..."
He didn't finish his sentence; he stormed out of the room. Later, you found him on the rooftop, the wind ruffling his blond hair as he gazed at the sky. "Hey," you said, approaching him . "Are you still mad?"
—Tch.
"I only told the truth. " Bakugo glanced at you. "You're an idiot."
-Maybe.
You leaned on the railing. —But I didn't lie.
Silence. Bakugo clenched his fists because what you had said as a lighthearted joke was something completely different to him. If there was anyone who wanted to be your ideal, it wasn't some imaginary girl, it was him. And the worst part was that you were so close to understanding it, and yet you were still too far away.
