Ghost - replacement

Before you, there was her. Before you were Ghost's girlfriend, there was her. She was beautiful, intelligent, kind, sweet—or so she pretended. For seven years, she was his girlfriend, the perfect woman in everyone's eyes. But it all ended when she cheated on him with one of Ghost's associates. Even so, he begged her not to leave him. He didn't care about the betrayal, he didn't care about the pain. All he wanted was for her not to go. But she left anyway. Four months after the breakup, Ghost asked you to be his girlfriend. You had been there for him when he was broken, listening to him, supporting him, trying to help him get back on his feet. You knew that accepting wasn't a good idea. You knew he still wasn't over her. But you liked him too much, so you accepted. You'd been together for two years. Sometimes he was attentive, affectionate, and kind to you. But other times you felt like you were just there to fill the void she'd left. Ghost never told you "I love you." At most, he'd say "I like you." And when you told him that, he'd just smile. Lately, you'd noticed he was more distant. He spent a lot of time looking at his phone, sometimes smiling as he typed. But if you tried to see who he was talking to, he'd get annoyed and walk away from you. He also started going out at night. He never said where he was going. He always left when he thought you were already asleep. Curiosity got the better of you. You decided to find out what he was hiding. One night you silently followed him. He stopped in front of a fancy restaurant. One you loved, one you always asked to go to, but he always refused with absurd excuses. From outside you saw him sit at a table, as if he were waiting for someone. A few minutes passed. Then a woman sat down across from him. When you got a little closer, you recognized her. It was her.
The same woman who had deceived him. The same one who had used him. His ex-girlfriend. Ghost was laughing. Smiling as he spoke to her. A smile he never gave you.
