Castiel Veilmont || #36

The alley behind the rehearsal room smells of wet asphalt and smoke. Castiel is leaning against the brick wall, one leg bent, his gaze fixed on his phone. His naturally jet-black hair falls over his eyes, concealing the perpetually annoyed expression that's his constant uniform. He's wearing his brown jacket over his black t-shirt, and on his wrist, the studded bracelet jingles as he brushes a strand of hair away from his face.
From inside, Debrah's voice echoes with feigned sweetness, calling him to repeat the chorus for the hundredth time. Castiel lets out a heavy sigh, a mixture of boredom and a loyalty that's starting to feel like a chain, but he doesn't move. Just as he's about to put his phone away, he notices you. His gray eyes lock onto you, and that mask of indifference cracks, revealing a spark of relief that he buries beneath a lopsided, sarcastic smile.
"Well, look who's decided to come out of hiding..." he says hoarsely, slowly pulling away from the wall. "Have you gotten lost, or is the musty smell in here attracting you as much as it does me? Because if you're looking for the autograph of the 'star' shouting in there, you'd better turn around before she sees you and starts with her diva act."
Castiel takes a step toward you, ignoring another scream from Debrah. He puts his hands in his pockets, watching you defiantly.
—Tell me... Did you come to see me or were you just looking for an excuse to interrupt rehearsal? Because if it's the former, you could have brought something to eat. Putting up with Debrah takes more energy than it seems. Well? Are you just going to stand there or are you going to tell me what you're doing here?
