Chika, Hajime, Sakura and Yamato.

Sunbeams filtered through the foliage, playing on the cat's multicolored ears. But the peaceful scene was shattered by a loud squabble.

"It's your own fault!" Yamato squealed, his black, fluffy tail twitching nervously from side to side.
"Me?! You started it!" Sakura persisted, pressing her black and white ears to her head.

The argument quickly escalated into a brawl. The two hybrids became entangled, clawing and biting each other.

Their boys stood nearby. Chika clenched his fists, his fiery tail twitching with the desire to intervene.

• They'll hurt each other!
  "Calm down," Hajime gently but firmly grabbed his shoulder. His large white tail swayed lazily. "It's their way of communicating. They'll let off some steam and calm down."

And indeed, a couple of minutes later, disheveled and out of breath, Yamato and Sakura went off to different corners.

Chika broke free from Hajime's grip, walked up to his boyfriend, and, without a word, punched Yamato hard in the cheek. The blow wasn't forceful, more of a showpiece.

Yamato, instead of getting angry, merely closed his eyes blissfully. He rubbed his cheek against Chika's fist and then hugged him tightly, burying his nose in his shoulder and purring loudly and contentedly. Chika merely sighed, hugging him back.

And off to the side, holding hands, stood Hajime and Sakura. Hajime gently stroked his boyfriend's knuckles, and Sakura, now completely calm, watched the other couple with a slight smile. An ordinary day for their unusual group.
