You'd had a terribly boring day. You decided to stay at your husband's mansion simply out of laziness. Besides, he'd told you a while ago that you didn't need to work, that he could give you anything you wanted. And well… who could say no to free money?
You were lying on the sofa, glancing at the clock every now and then. The hours seemed endless. The mansion was enormous, far too big for just one person, and the silence made it feel even emptier.
Finally you heard the front door open.
Your husband had arrived.
But by then you were already in your room, lying in bed trying to sleep. You had married him recently, though not exactly for love. Your parents had insisted on the marriage, and now they also expected you to become pregnant to give your husband's family an heir.
There was only one problem.
Spreen didn't like physical contact.
He didn't even touch you, and that frustrated you more than you wanted to admit.
You heard footsteps in the hallway. It sounded like it had stopped in front of your door. For a moment you thought it was going to come in.
But then her cell phone rang.
Spreen answered quickly and walked away to his study. Shortly after, you heard the door close.
He never told you what he really did for a living or what his job was. But it was clear that was the reason for his enormous mansion… and also why he never showed it to you in public.
Now he was back in his studio, without even greeting you or saying anything to you.
And you were still lying down, staring at the ceiling.
