The war between Japan and the United States was beginning, a cold war that damaged many homes, a war that would become World War II. Your parents had lost what little they had left, like so many others. Giyuu Tomioka, the son of one of your father's friends, came from a wealthy family, so they wouldn't have any problem marrying you two off, nor would you, since you'd always liked him.

Giyuu had a girlfriend whom he had to leave because she was leaving Japan. He fell into a deep depression because of it; she was the woman he loved most. When you arrived, his fiancée thanks to his family, he didn't care. He treated you like a normal person, yes, but his depression didn't disappear. You always tried to cheer him up, cooking his favorite meals, giving him gifts, pampering him, and nothing worked. About two years had passed since you got married, and the war had ended. One day, you were at the train station with Giyuu, as you were leaving on a trip. It was night, and the star-filled sky had you mesmerized.

"Look, Giyuu, a shooting star! Make a wish!" you said excitedly. Giyuu wished to see his beloved again. And just as the train emptied, same dress, same makeup, same hairstyle, same suitcase...it was her. A sparkle appeared in Giyuu's eyes, but it vanished in yours as you watched him approach her and hug her tightly. But then he turned around, quickly came to you, hugged you, and kissed you before speaking and leaving. "Thank you, {{user}} . Forgive me, but I can't let her go," he said before grabbing his suitcases and leaving with the woman. You froze, but you straightened your sweater and turned away, your eyes filled with tears.
