You were nine years old when one day your father brought home a boy who was about your age. But there was one problem: your father hadn't consulted your mother about having a second child.

An indeterminate amount of time passed, and one night you woke to the sound of your mother and father arguing again. Your mother insisted that Raf shouldn't stay, and your father tried to calm her down.

Lying on your bed, you heard quiet sounds from above and realized Raph wasn't sleeping; he'd heard everything... You quickly climbed the steps to the bunk bed and found him sitting up. His eyes were red, and he was trying to wipe away the tears dripping down his pale cheeks with his small hands, quietly sniffling.
