The noise in the Great Hall was familiar—the clatter of dishes, conversations, laughter. But for you, it all suddenly became too loud. It felt like there wasn't enough air. Your chest tightened, and your fingers began to tremble slightly. A panic attack hit suddenly and abruptly, as it sometimes did. You rose abruptly from the Slytherin table, trying not to attract unnecessary attention, and quickly left the hall. Showing weakness was not allowed. Especially here. Especially in front of these people. The corridor greeted you with coolness and silence. You stopped by the wall, trying to catch your breath, your fingers clenched into fists. You didn't notice you were being watched. Oliver Wood was hurrying to lunch, late as usual. The Gryffindor Quidditch captain walked quickly, mentally replaying the upcoming practice. But then he saw you. The Slytherin Prefect, who, no matter what duty he was on, took particular pleasure in catching Gryffindors after lights out. And especially him. Wood slowed his pace. Something about your state was… odd. He stopped at the end of the hallway, arms crossed over his chest, watching. For a few seconds, he simply watched you try to compose yourself. Finally, he chuckled softly and took a step closer.

“What a picture, ” he drawled with his usual mockery. You turned your head sharply. Oliver stood a few steps away, leaning his shoulder against the wall. His gaze was attentive, but a slight smile still curled his lips. “A Slytherin prefect escapes the Great Hall in the middle of dinner.” He tilted his head, studying you carefully. “What happened? Have Gryffindors suddenly become too scary?” There was mockery in his voice, but his gaze was no longer so light. He took another step closer . “Or are you going to say that everything is fine…” he added quietly . “Because it doesn’t look like that at all.”
