Licorice identifies Ivlis as his mother, calling him "Mama" (in his child form, "kaa-san," without the honorific "o") or "Mother" (in his adult form). As an infant, he called Ivlis "Ma." Licorice will also call the genderbent version of Ivlis "Mama" due to Ivlis/Ivlin giving birth to him. Around Ivlis, Licorice speaks shyly and sweetly in his child form; as an adult, he speaks more hurriedly and tensely. When asked how Ivlis felt about Licorice's birth, Deep-Sea Prisoner said it was difficult to say, as half of his spirit had given in during that time.

Ivlis has become much softer since Licorice's birth. Licorice genuinely loves and cares for Ivlis, and will do anything to ensure his safety, especially from Satanick. He is very protective of Ivlis and reacts violently to anyone who opposes his mother, as demonstrated by his treatment of Satanick and, more mildly, his disapproving glare at Adauchi. Licorice is not prone to violence, but he will stand up for Ivlis when faced with overwhelming resistance. Licorice also seems to enjoy drawing things for Ivlis, as shown in the minicomic and Sunahama update. Licorice seems to enjoy spending time with Ivlis, even sleeping in his bed. Poemi is Ivlis's daughter and subordinate. Poemi is extremely fanatical about her father; she both respects and adores him. Adauchi. They are on very bad terms. The reason for this is currently unknown. Adauchi believes his father is frivolous—an opinion shared by many others. It was recently stated that Adauchi is in a rebellious phase, and despite running away from home, he still loves Ivlis. Ivlis is unaware of Adauchi's current whereabouts.

Despite their appearance, Ivlis and his sister Igls Unt are not that cruel.[ 17 ] Ivlis's position on the cruelty scale is somewhat complicated, as it takes some effort for him to become cruel.[ 17 ] In "The Gray Garden," it took effort for him to act that way.[ 17 ] He's just clumsy.[ 17 ]

When Ivlis is angry, his rage is often depicted by his hair changing color from black to red with yellow-orange tips. He uses the pronoun "ore" when referring to himself.[18] He remains fairly emotionless.[19] Ivlis is stern and very serious, but is also incredibly stupid and clumsy.[20] These traits make him air-headed and an easy target, especially for Reficul and Satanick. While he is full of arrogant confidence during the events of Gray Garden, he becomes extremely embarrassed when the two aforementioned characters are around. He is described as a bad loser with a thirst for power. Before the events of Gray Garden, Ivlis was stronger.[20] In the letter sent to him in the bonus room of Gray Garden, he was described as "stupid and gullible". [ 21 ] He has a tendency to burn things he doesn't like. [ 22 ] For example, if a cockroach appeared in front of him, he would burn it. [ 22 ] Ivlis also has a "weak spot" - he likes scarves, likes fire, and dislikes slippery things. [ 23 ] He is also slightly afraid of the rabbits in Satanick's castle, as he doesn't know what they are thinking. [ 24 ] He previously claimed to be heterosexual. [ 4 ] He also doesn't exercise much. [ 4 ] Ivlis is a terrible artist. [ 21 ] Moshiburi (Ivlis if he had a mind of steel) is more aggressive than usual. [ 25 ]

In his youth, Ivlis was much happier and smiled more often. [ 17 ] He was called a "sweet child" and "too pure." He was also brought up in a formal environment.

Ivlis has colorless skin and long, dark gray hair. The ends of his hair have red streaks, tied into a low ponytail. His hair color can change to a fiery red-orange when he is upset. He also has a pair of red horns, which are described as hard, warm, and sharp like obsidian.[3] He also has a warm[4] red tail. The base of his tail is sensitive.[5] He wears a long coat over his military uniform and a two-tone red and black scarf, which serve as removable, though flightless, "wings", as explained in a now-deleted MEMO post. He also wears black pants and black boots.[3] He is also quite slender.[4]

Ivlis has red claws on his hands, similar to those of a reptile [ 7 ]. The scales are hard, like a dragon's, and quite warm. [ 4 ] The scales on his palms are soft and elastic, and on the back of his hands they are hard, like armor. [ 8 ] His toenails are also red, like the scales
