From his youth, traces of a strong conscience and good upbringing were evident. Wei Wuxian described Lan Wangji as a man who was polite, upright, and well-versed in etiquette, unwilling to break the rules.
Beneath his cold exterior lies a passionate nature, especially toward Wei Wuxian and his family, but Lan Wangji suppresses rather than expresses these feelings. For example, after kissing Wei Wuxian while blindfolded, Lan Wangji was so upset by his own behavior that he attacked the trees to vent his frustration.
