Healing Cookies are a type of Cookie that focus on healing the party, and their position is usually the Rear. Exceptions are Rockstar Cookie, Okchun Cookie and Doughael who are in the Middle and Icicle Yeti Cookie who is in the Front. Instead of dealing damage, their regular attacks restore an amount of HP based on a percentage of their attack. Some may also provide additional effects, such as creating temporary shields or increasing CRIT%. Healing Cookies are highly recommended in World Exploration, especially in the absence of any other means of healing Cookies. There are currently 14 Cookies of this type. Rear Cookies consist of Support Cookies, Healing Cookies, Bomber Cookies, Ranged Cookies, Ambush Cookies, and Magic Cookies. They are Cookies that focus on healing ally Cookies in the Front or Middle, or dealing damage from afar. There are currently 65 Cookies in this position. Beast-Yeast is an enigmatic continent in the east-northeast portion of Earthbread's Cookie Kingdom landmass. This treacherous land is home to the argent Faerie Kingdom alongside the banished Beast Cookies and their domains. Earthbread is the planet on which Cookie Run: Kingdom takes place. It is home to the Cookies along with a myriad of various other species of sweets-based wildlife. Very little is known about the entirety of Earthbread's history and evolution before the Dark Flour War, as it as a term is generally used to simply speak of the world in which the Cookies live in a way parallel to the real world's Earth. Its main, known landmass is referred to as the Cookie Kingdom, though other unlabeled areas of the planet exist.

Pure Vanilla Cookie is the leader of the five Ancient Heroes and the first playable Ancient Cookie. He was released alongside Black Raisin Cookie in the first half of the Lost Kingdom, and received an Awakened form, Pure Vanilla Cookie (Compassionate), in the Beacon of Truth update. He is of the Healing type and his position is prioritized to the Rear. Like the other Ancient Cookies Pure Vanilla Cookie is the founder and former king of the Vanilla Kingdom, appearing prominently in the Castle in the Sky and Timeless Kingdom Episodes of World Exploration, in Cookie Odyssey as the ambassador of his kingdom, and in Secrets of the Silver Kingdom as an explorer of Beast-Yeast. He carries the Light of Truth in his Soul Jam, and is the counterpart to Shadow Milk Cookie's Light of Deceit. There are not many Cookies on Earthbread who could inspire hope as Pure Vanilla Cookie did. Born from nature-blessed cream and a fragrant vanilla bean, he was the epitome of Cookie kindness and faithfulness. Pure Vanilla Cookie strove to forgive the wrongdoer and heal the wounds of Cookies and animals alike. Though a powerful wielder of magic, he would use his spells not for his own good, but for the good of everyone. The Cookie took an arduous pilgrimage down the Sugar-Free Road. What Pure Vanilla Cookie learned through the Trials is unknown, but crowned with a bright halo of light he returned to found the Vanilla Kingdom, a land of freedom and learning, and a beacon for those seeking love and peace. Pure Vanilla Cookie stood by his friends until the very end, warding off the Darkness with a heartfelt smile.

The Ancient Heroes, often referred to as the Ancient Cookies, the Ancients, or the Five, are the overarching protagonists of Cookie Run: Kingdom. They are a group of ageless Cookies graced with Soul Jam of the purest kind. Guardians of peace, they face off against the harbinger of chaos Dark Enchantress Cookie at the beginning of the game during the Final Battle. Each is stated to have once ruled over a Kingdom of their own. They were defeated by Dark Enchantress Cookie and their Soul Jams were shattered, setting off the events of World Exploration. Ancient Heroes can be easily obtained via the Might of the Ancients event, which allows players to earn an Ancient Hero of choice up to 3 times by completing certain objectives. Ancient Cookies are obtainable from all Cookie Gachas with a 0.0472% chance of being pulled, and have a higher chance of being pulled through the Nether-Gacha, a special Event that runs during an Ancient or an Awakened Ancient (alongside Beast) Cookie's release update. Ancient Cookie Soulstones cannot be stocked by any shop except for the Medal Shop, nor can they be randomly generated by Landmarks. The Ancient Cookies can be Awakened via collecting their Soulprisms, unlocking a more powerful form with a new Skill and increased stats. Soulprisms can be earned from their respective Nether-Gacha, the Gacha of Fate, or the Rainbow Shell Gallery. Awakened Heroes have a 0.0371% chance to be pulled from Cookie Gachas as bundles of 20 Soulprisms; these Soulprisms do not grant a usable Cookie however, requiring a player to own the Ancient Hero first before they can be used. All Ancient Heroes can currently be pulled and have Awakened forms.

The Vanilla Kingdom is a kingdom founded by Pure Vanilla Cookie, where he reigned as king for many years before abdicating as of the events of Timeless Kingdom. In general, the kingdom draws inspiration from several Germanic areas in Europe such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. Being situated on the largest island of the Candystick Archipelago parallels with England, one of the United Kingdom's constituent countries that also encompasses its respective island, Great Britain. The Vanilla Kingdom is the focus of the Castle in the Sky and Timeless Kingdom World Exploration: Crispia Episodes, appears prominently in Cookie Odyssey, and is represented in the Land of Peace & Healing and First Steps Towards Peace Decoration Themes. The Vanilla Kingdom is located on the western extents of the Cookie Kingdom's Crispia continent. It lies on a large island adjacent to the Candystick Archipelago circled by the Silent and Soda Oceans and the Black Luna Sea. The draft version of the Cookie Kingdom World Map states that the river at its north is an offshoot of the Sweet Tear Sea. According to The Art of Cookie Run: Kingdom, the nation is surrounded by snowy mountain peaks; due to the Vanilla Kingdom's lack of snow, these sheltering mountains may be the frigid Bloody Jam Mountains to the north. The nearest other kingdom is the Golden Cheese Kingdom, sitting shortly nearby to the east-northeast across an unlabeled river. Directly to the west of the Vanilla Kingdom is the Secret Fig Forest from which Fig Cookie likely originates. In the further extents of the kingdom's island are the Greensalad Jungle and Coconut Forest with the Salty Drop Island directly to the south and separated from the main island by the Sourdressing River.

The Dark Flour War was a period of time on Earthbread that marked the fall of the Ancient Heroes. It was instigated by a harbinger of darkness who commanded the Cake Monsters to spread Darkness across the land and crumble countless Cookies. The crux of this era was a direct assault on the Vanilla Kingdom castle by a Cake Witch, forcing the Ancient Heroes to band together there to defend it. Dark Enchantress Cookie would use the opportunity to defeat them all at once and take their Soul Jams. A desperate final spell cast by Pure Vanilla Cookie banished both Dark Enchantress Cookie and himself, which also caused the Soul Jams to shatter and a massive explosion to occur in the Castle. No one knows who ultimately won that night, but the resulting disappearance of the Ancient Heroes left the Cookies unable to hold back the forces of Darkness. Thus, the remaining Cookie civilizations fell into decline.

Pure Vanilla Cookie is an average height, thin Cookie with light brown dough and creamy blonde hair. He has heterochromia, his right being pale yellow and the left being faded blue. His eyes are mostly closed, though sometimes they are open. On his forehead is a sienna-colored star shape. Pure Vanilla Cookie's outfit is that of a Vanilla Kingdom ruler, hence the waffle-like hat and robes and light-colored palette. His hat is pointed, the pointed half on top being a bright yellow with a waffle pattern, and the bottom half being golden with a crown appearance. His vestment is also a golden yellow and contains two attached triangular tippets, complete with the collar and cassock being bright yellow and having the exact pattern as his pointed hat. The cross-like plate on his vestment contains his vibrant blue Soul Jam. Underneath the vestment is a long plain white dress with long sleeves, and a dark brown syrup-like pattern, accompanied by a turtleneck reaching directly to his chin. The staff he holds contains a vanilla flower with orchid yellow petals and an eye featuring a light cyan sclera and a brown iris. The brown shaft contains a few green vines.

Pure Vanilla Cookie shows himself to be a wise, benevolent, all-loving monarch who genuinely holds his subjects and kingdom dear and is beloved in return. He is seen as the epitome of many virtues. Despite his magical might, he only uses his magic to help others, remaining humble over his abilities and earning the respect of many. Even towards his supposed arch-nemesis Dark Enchantress Cookie, he remains altruistic and puts effort into convincing her to change her mind. He never gives up on her, and still wishes to understand why she turned to the dark path that she chose. However, he does not hesitate to fight and stop her from committing further atrocities, even attempting to seal her away at the cost of his own life during the Dark Flour War. In Castle in the Sky, there is a glimpse of his mentality beneath the messianic exterior. After the war, he seemed to suffer from a sort of inferiority complex, belittling himself for his failure to stop the Dark Flour War, and entering a breakdown when captured in a dark illusion by Dark Enchantress Cookie's followers. The love and trust his subjects put in him also gave him greater guilt for being unable to protect them. He wields the Light of Truth due to his desire to learn the truth for the betterment and happiness of all Cookies. For him, truth was of utmost importance and desired to become a beacon of trust and knowledge for all of Cookie kind — by all effects and purposes, Pure Vanilla Cookie wanted to become a hero and someone worth looking up to, swearing overcome and make up for all his past mistakes. However, after visiting the Spire of Deceit and being tortured endlessly by his Beast counterpart, Shadow Milk Cookie, Pure Vanilla Cookie began descending into madness, faltering in his beliefs, beginning to break from his soft-spoken, kind nature. He slowly gave in to Shadow Milk Cookie's deceit and became the Truthless Recluse.

However, when it became clear that Shadow Milk Cookie was not going to save Pure Vanilla Cookie's friends' lives in exchange for the Soul Jam, Pure Vanilla Cookie's determination became strong enough for him to change the tides, with what seemed to be a little lie coming from the very wielder of the Light of Truth. Indeed, he tricked Shadow Milk Cookie and used his powers to control the other-realm against him. Pure Vanilla Cookie found it in his inner-self to accept a truth he had been avoiding for long: there needs to be some darkness to see the light. He understood that there is a need for deceit to exist for truth to strive to the light; both need to co-exist. Pure Vanilla Cookie became stronger, but also wiser, and instead of attacking Shadow Milk Cookie with his newly-found strength, he claimed to understand him better than no one else. Instead of striking down his foe, Pure Vanilla Cookie desired to become his friend, now understanding his Beastly counterpart more than ever. During Forgotten Academy and Hall of Enlightenment, it is discovered Pure Vanilla Cookie attended the Blueberry Yogurt Academy alongside White Lily Cookie. Despite Pure Vanilla Cookie's magical capabilities, he had more of a rebellious side. He would skip classes to join White Lily Cookie, explaining that they were "boring without [her]." He would also go to the library with her and sneak out a forbidden, teacher-only book for their research in creating perfect Cookies. Unlike White Lily Cookie, he stopped when he felt that they reached the limits of their research, warning her against the ethical borders they'd have to cross to continue it.

Castle in the Sky is the ninth episode of World Exploration.. Blueberry Yogurt Academy The Blueberry Yogurt Academy, also known as the Academy of Magic, was once an illustrious institute that housed such brilliant students as Pure Vanilla Cookie and White Lily Cookie. Following an incident in the past, the Academy has since been reduced to nothing but ruin. Its remains span the Forgotten Academy and Hall of Enlightenment episodes of World Exploration. The Academy lies across an astral river, with the Ghost City on the river's other bank. Cookies are transported across this river by The Ferryman.

Both have close ties to the Vanilla Kingdom, with Pure Vanilla Cookie being its founder and king and Custard Cookie III being a royal descendant of it. The two may be directly related; Custard Cookie III claims such in Castle in the Sky, calling himself "a descendant of the king" and claiming that a depiction of Pure Vanilla must bear a family resemblance to him. Custard Cookie III's grandfather, Premier Custard Cream Cookie, is known to have been a high-ranking official of the Vanilla Kingdom, who knew and was invariably loyal to Pure Vanilla Cookie. Similarly, Custard Cookie III longs to be the king of the Vanilla Kingdom much like Pure Vanilla Cookie had been. Due to this, Custard Cookie III harbors intense respect for him, holding this opinion long before he even met Pure Vanilla Cookie. Custard Cookie III and Pure Vanilla Cookie both are Healing units that default to the Rear position. Pure Vanilla Cookie's Love & Peace Skill is functionally identical to Custard Cookie III's Skill, King's Favor, as both are Skills that instantly heal team members by a set amount of HP while casting a non-permanent shield upon them. However, Love & Peace is a much stronger version of King's Favor, as it casts a barrier upon and heals all members of the party for a significant amount of HP, while King's Favor heals a smaller amount of HP on and casts a barrier upon only two members of the party. (The differences in HP restored are due to their Attack stat ranges, with Pure Vanilla Cookie able to reach a higher Attack stat than Custard Cookie III.) In the Halloween Story, Custard Cookie III is seen dressed as Pure Vanilla Cookie (with a few design discrepancies and simplifications) for the Halloween Masquerade in his Honorable Descendant Costume.

Illuminates the battlefield with his Vanilla Orchid Staff, granting Amplify Buffs to regular healing targets. The light reaches all corners of the battlefield, replenishing the party's HP and reducing the effects of Injury. Pure Vanilla Cookie heals the amount of HP proportional to the reduction of Injury's effects. He then casts an HP Shield absorbing an amount of damage proportional to their Max HP. If the Shield is removed or the target cannot receive it, Pure Vanilla Cookie instead grants a buff that restores HP over time. While Pure Vanilla Cookie is using his skill, he will briefly become resistant to interrupting effects.

Pure Vanilla Cookie is the Awakened version of Pure Vanilla Cookie released alongside Black Sapphire Cookie in the Beacon of Truth update (v6.1). He is the third Ancient Hero to Awaken. He is of the Healing type and his position is prioritized to the Rear. After nearly losing himself to the whispers of Shadow Milk Cookie's Deceit and becoming the Truthless Recluse, he realizes that the real Truth he had been searching for his whole life has always been in front of him — for he will never stop walking towards it. Thanks to the help of his friends, he tricks Shadow Milk Cookie, reclaims his Soul Jam and Awakens. What is the Truth? Long ago, Pure Vanilla Cookie picked up his trusty staff and set off on a pilgrimage to find an answer to this question. Having left behind the careless days in the idyllic pastures and the trials of the Sugar-Free Road, Pure Vanilla Cookie was left face to face with his fears and regrets. In the moment of the greatest doubt, the Cookie of Truth gave in to the dark abyss of Deceit. And yet... the voices of dear friends awakened him. Having embraced his flaws and mistakes, Pure Vanilla Cookie could find his way back to the light once more. The path ahead is hard and full of peril, but it is nothing more than a sum of little steps. And in those steps dwells the Truth.

Pure Vanilla Cookie fully heals the team and reduces Injury. He will further heal the team for the amount of HP recovered from the reduced Injury. Provides HP Shield for all members of the team. Whenever these HP Shields are dispelled, or the target becomes unable to have an HP Shield, periodically heals the team for a certain period of time. Next, he will summon Shards of Light that will heal your team and deal damage to enemies, applying the Shards of Light debuff. As long as Pure Vanilla Cookie participates in the battle, he will select a Cookie and illuminate them with the Light of Truth to restore their HP when it drops below a certain point. Pure Vanilla Cookie will keep restoring their HP periodically for some more time. This effect can trigger only once in a certain period of time. As someone who has witnessed both the Truth and Deceit, Pure Vanilla Cookie will grant the team immunity from Silence and Cooldown debuffs at the beginning of battle if there are no other Healing Cookies in the rear row. Once per battle, when his own HP drops below a certain point, he will restore his HP, gain an HP Shield, and dispel all possible debuffs on himself. Additionally, once per battle, Pure Vanilla Cookie will revive one team member, himself included. However, this effect will not trigger if the entire team is defeated mid-revival or if the target has already been revived. The higher Pure Vanilla Cookie's DMG Resist stat, the stronger Cooldown buff he will receive at the beginning of the battle. His regular attacks will heal up to 5 targets and increase their Amplify Buffs.

Pure Vanilla Cookie in his Compassionate form remains a sandy-doughed Cookie of average height and build. As always, his single-lashed eyes are often closed in reverence and lie upon rosy cheeks, though they exhibit a dual tone of daisy yellow and pale blue when opened. The terracotta mark upon his forehead has blossomed from a diamond to a full starburst—it is indicative of his expanded understanding. He often wears a small smile, choosing to be happy in spite of the terrible truths to which he fell as the Truthless Recluse. His hair, once shaped like orchid petals, has grown since his transformation and flows to his feet in cornsilk waves. When Awakened, Pure Vanilla Cookie's attire pays homage to his themes of Christianity even more directly than before, reflecting the appearance of a grand prelate or even pontiff. His overwhelmingly white and gold color palette reflects his newfound purity and enlightenment plus his mastery of White Magic while matching the white worn by high-ranking Christian clergymen. Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie's outfit heavily utilizes layers; its innermost garment is a pristine white alb with a wide, billowing hem and sleeves, both of which display a golden crown border pattern. Above this is a mantle so voluminous that it extends past his arms. The mantle's outer fabric is milky with vertical striations for definition and its hem is finished with an exaggerated inverted scallop edge in bisque yellow. Each apex of this edge is topped with a six-pointed star like a spur. The cape's shrouded interior is the antithesis of its white shell and one of the few instances of coolness in the design: it is a navy void filled with stars and shut eyes, resembling the empty Dark Side of the Moon in which Pure Vanilla Cookie was sealed long ago. This mantle, a focal point of the outfit, embodies the inextricable bond between White Magic and Dark Moon Magic through its dichotomy of textiles.

On the outermost layer of Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie's shoulders sits a plain stole with coronal symmetry; notably, the "V"-shaped stole is most often seen on lesser clergymen, perhaps indicating Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie's selflessness even in his grandeur. The stole supports his triple ice cream-shaped Soul Jam, secured in a gilded filigree brooch like a pectoral cross. Though usually sky blue, the Light of Truth shines so brightly in this appearance that it now takes a periwinkle tone highlighted with vibrant cobalt and cyan. Pure Vanilla Cookie's final bodily accessory is an expansive aurelian scroll acting almost as another stole, though more papal than that previous. Hovering around its wearer, it starts upon the ground and rests on his arms before rounding his neck and returning to the floor on his other side. The parchment glows with arcane scrawlings and symbols that correlate with various types of magic which, though indecipherable, communicate their wearer's vast knowledge of the world's secrets.

White Magic is explicitly connected to the Vanilla Kingdom and its founder, Pure Vanilla Cookie, the art's one true master. Consequently, White Magic plays a large (though quiet) role in the Crème Republic, though with shifted priorities in its usage. While the Vanilla Kingdom has magichanical prowess in its own right as seen with its Wafflebots, the Crème Republic forgoes White Magic's folk healing roots in favor of an entirely engineering-focused approach to great success. A school of magic that draws its power from celestial bodies emanating light, such as the full moon. White Magic is often associated with healing powers, but adepts of this school can effectively attack their foes and protect themselves using the light itself. This magic is considered cold and pristine, and its energy is of the colors white, cyan, or light yellow. Soul Jam is a mythical item of boundless power created in a set of five by Witches when Earthbread was born. First mentioned in the Prologue, Soul Jams are shining, sentient jewels which attach themselves to Cookies of exemplary morality fit to lead Cookiekind, endowing the Cookie with ability beyond measure and immortality. The five Soul Jams are the catalysts for the legacies and strength of the Ancient Heroes and the Beasts, the Soul Jams of the Beasts being unwilling heirlooms passed down in altered forms to the Ancients. Due to their sheer potential and the ability of such to be harnessed by sources other than their owners, wars and other violent struggles over possession of the Soul Jams are events which drive much of the narrative of Cookie Run: Kingdom.

Dark Moon Magic, sometimes referred to as Crescent Moon Magic, is a forbidden and therefore rarely practiced school of magic. It is a dangerous art generally relegated to only the most powerful of beings, like the primordial Witches (as they were believed to be). It is very rare for even the Ancient Heroes to use such magic, and its employment is only resorted to when absolutely necessary. Though its true potential is obfuscated in canon, it is capable of both sealing and releasing deadly entities as seen with Pure Vanilla Cookie's banishment of Dark Enchantress Cookie (and himself) and with White Lily Cookie's chaos laid upon the Blueberry Yogurt Academy respectively. It is connected to the Moonstone, an artifact with the power to transport individuals across the world or even outside of it; a small piece of the Moonstone was gifted to White Lily Cookie by Elder Faerie Cookie for use in returning to the Faerie Kingdom, and Dark Enchantress Cookie/White Lily Cookie was sealed in the main body of the Moonstone through Pure Vanilla Cookie's use of Dark Moon Magic. Dark Moon Magic draws its power from and allows access to the Dark Side of the Moon, an area whose name is both literal in that it is the posterior face of the moon and figurative in that it is a infinite, void-like, and mysterious "other-realm." This space is where Pure Vanilla Cookie and Dark Enchantress Cookie/White Lily Cookie were held after the climax of the Dark Flour War, the latter being transported through the Moonstone; in fact, it is said that the Moonstone comes from the Dark Side of the Moon. Shadow Milk Cookie appears to have a kinship with the Dark Side of the Moon, being able to warp its nullity to torture the trapped Pure Vanilla Cookie in any way he pleased and even calling it his home.

Despite its name, it is unclear if Moonlight Cookie uses Dark Moon Magic or has relation to its source. Moonlight Cookie has mentioned the Dark Side of the Moon, though as a metaphor for her lack of understanding towards the City of Wizards's past; still, such conveys that she is unfamiliar with the other-realm.

Magic fuels many of the common aspects of life and events in Cookie Run: Kingdom. Earthbread itself is at its core a magical land—its edible denizens could not exist without their world's innate magic, as they are brought to life through the means of spells and magical ingredients. This magical existence could very well be what grants them the inherent ability to wield magic in such a wide variety of ways (in multiple other realities, it is even clear that something as simple as emotions hold mystical might for the Cookies).

Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie's hood resembles that of his base design, though it is modified to fit his ascended theming. It maintains the tall waffle cone shape, though it is now white at its base and lightly banded with gold similar to the lattice texture seen in its previous iteration. Among these lines are a starburst near the hood's tip and three tall points at the nape of the wearer's neck. The rim of the hood is similar to that of before, though it is now wrought in pure gold and shines like rays emitted from a beaming sun. The northernmost tip of the king's crown extends into a cross shape similar to that which holds his Soul Jam, though this segment instead carries a lozenge opening which peers into the same other-realm as the mantle's lining. Pure Vanilla Cookie's Vanilla Orchid Staff seems to have Awakened alongside its owner—though apparently at the cost of its sentience. Once a rustic flower, it is now transformed into a gilt key-staff resembling a crozier; though the six-petaled bloom remains at its top with additional leaves, its eye socket has been hollowed out entirely and replaced with a whirling burst of light. The staff's vines are replaced with a forked ribbon that circles its shaft, and its bottom holds the teeth of a skeleton key. This key motif in particular is evocative of Shadow Milk Cookie's own lock-and-key theme present in his past self and in Sage of Truth, similarly casting Pure Vanilla Cookie as a gatekeeper of knowledge. Despite the Vanilla Orchid Staff's visual upgrades, it no longer shows any reaction to stimulus like it once did.

Upon Ascension, a disc of gold and cobalt is placed behind Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie's head like a halo. It is born as a mere lattice of two concentric circles holding a star like a compass rose, its blue filling appearing at higher Ascension levels. The halo completes itself with auric spokes which orbit a blinking blue eye similar to the Dark Side of the Moon-opening in Pure Vanilla Cookie's hood; alternating small diamonds and sigils of the Light of Truth top the points of the compass rose's cardinal directions. The circular frame of the mechanism spins perpetually amongst speckles of light.

Imperfections are what makes us... us. Sometimes, you need the darkness to see the light. Wish All Cookies shall be happy! There are fights you cannot avoid. Curious what I'm capable of? Any conflict can be solved through conversation... Have faith in yourself! There's nothing to fear! May this warm light illuminate you! Ha ha, my staff is not easily broken! I see all! Have faith! Truthless Recluse is an introduced in the Spire of Shadows update and then later released as a Costume for Pure Vanilla Cookie in the Beacon of Truth mid-update. He is revealed to be the true identity of Fortune Teller Cookie, battling GingerBrave and his group at the top of the Spire of Deceit and serving as the final Boss of World Exploration: Beast-Yeast's Spire of Shadows. He is in fact Pure Vanilla Cookie himself, under the guise of a fallen version of himself after suffering through Shadow Milk Cookie's plot. The light of his soul has dimmed, blackened by the shadow of despair. For neither glory not(sic) blessings, but despair awaited him at the end of his long quest for the Truth. Yet, there was something he did not lose in his fruitless, lonely journey. The sinister whispers of the Truth he has sworn to hide within the folds of his dark robes. So that no one else ever has to face the cruel reality again... GingerBrave and friends, with the help of Fortune Teller Cookie. follow the light of Pure Vanilla Cookie's memories up the Spire of Deceit, watching him grapple with Shadow Milk Cookie's revelations. Distraught by a final vision of him falling ever downwards, they reach the pinnacle only to find nothing and no one there. Fortune Teller Cookie then begins to admonish them for their folly, before revealing his true identity: the Truthless Recluse, he who Pure Vanilla Cookie has now become.

Truthless Recluse is a Cookie who has slightly messier and longer hair than his original form, Pure Vanilla Cookie. His eyes are blue and yellow, both halfway covered by dark shadows under his upper lashes. There are also thin white lashes under his eyes. He has a light blue, four-pointed star on his forehead. The top of his triangular hat is black with faint golden dots, and the bottom is reminiscent of a crown, but fades from black to navy blue and has a golden edge. He wears a long, spiky black cloak with a golden rim and golden lines with small dots along them, as well as a navy blue shawl with a gold key design in the middle and the same spiky golden edge as his hat. Beneath the cloak and shawl is a black dress with a spiky golden rim along the sleeves' edges. His staff, too, turned dark: it is completely black, save for a blue center and three glowing eyes.

Having seemingly broken down for good, Pure Vanilla Cookie took on a new identity, the Truthless Recluse, which became a complete antithesis of the optimistic, nurturing and wise Ancient hero. The Truthless Recluse was silent, dismissive and apathetic, rarely showing any emotion or displayed concern over anything. However, this shadow of Pure Vanilla Cookie still contained some vestiges of his original personality in him, such as his will to protect his friends and his own Soul Jam. Once it was clear Shadow Milk Cookie wanted the Soul Jam at any cost, as well as just torture him for his own amusement, the Truthless Recluse decided to willingly embrace Deceit in his own way. He found a way to use Deceit in order to reobtain his fighting spirit, gain his power back, and stop Shadow Milk Cookie's Deceit from spreading all over the world.

Meaningless battles... You wish to see my powers? There's nothing left to say... Is it your faith that drives you forward? I've no more fear left... Give up before it's too late. My staff will shatter all vestiges of hope. You don't see the error in your ways. Doubt will consume you. I see everyone is safe. We must tend to our wounds... I was merely lucky. Tend to your wounds... Our doubt... took over. Must I understand the depths of despair? I knew it all along... We must stay determined. It's all clear now. Agony and anguish propel me forward. Not every Cookie can be happy. The more I understand the world, the more I grow to resent it. How much more power do I need...? Only those who touched the Truth might understand... Seeking the Truth... is climbing a set of endless stairs. Deceit helped me understand it all. You will never understand me... I've no one left to share these with. I haven't felt this in a long time. Do you, too, seek this power? There's a place that still needs me...? Power is not all. I understand the world better now. Only despair lies at the end of Truth. Nothing left but coldness. I once believed that friendship would conquer all. Peaceful walks are but a faint memory now... The chirping of blue birds... What did I put my love and trust in all these years...? I sense your sorrows. Truth and Deceit... They were one after all... No expectations, no burdens. I always thought I could make it work... Do I look odd? ... Well, that was a pointless question. This beautiful kingdom... is but a fleeting moment... I only wanted to help you. The world is... fundamentally imperfect. The Light of Truth grows dimmer... Some wounds cannot be healed. I hope my healing powers bring you... a moment of peace. I've done everything in my power, but... Try all you want, the outcome remains the same. Perhaps I, too, was born from the cradle of Deceit.
