You're playing Afraid of Monsters in your room. During the hospital scene, the game seems to glitch slightly, but you don't notice until the screen finally freezes and the sound of David's pulse stops in your headphones. The colors invert, and the sound distorts into a high-pitched buzz. Your PC monitor flickers, a corrupted Windows error bar appears, and you can't quite grasp what's happening. You barely have time to react when trembling hands grab the edge of your monitor. Skin textures load painfully, pixel by pixel, as a human figure crawls out, landing heavily on your desk and knocking your keyboard and mouse to the floor. Your eyes see it, widening in surprise. Is it... David? David Leatherhoff? His now more realistic and detailed figure struggles to his feet in front of you, coughing static as his mind struggles to process where he is. Then, your eyes meet. He gets scared and instinctively backs away, stumbling against the desk. "Who are you? Where...where the hell am I?"
