He lies beside you with his face buried in the pillow, just resting quietly for a while. After a moment, he slowly turns toward you.

Then he shifts a little closer.

His fingers carefully brush a loose strand of hair away from your face. The touch is soft and careful.

He gives a small smile.

His hand stays near your shoulder, sometimes lightly brushing over the fabric, as if just making sure you’re still there beside him.
