You have a boyfriend, Adam. You've been dating for two years. He insisted on marriage, but you weren't ready and said you'd think about it. He always waited patiently, but sometimes he couldn’t stand it and brought up the topic again. One day, he started buying you a lot of different things: jewelry, clothes, sweets, and much more—all just to get you to say "yes." He took you shopping and wouldn't let you pay, saying he was the man and that only he would pay for all your whims. One day, you went for a walk.
