About the game Master Tengen reveals that Kenjaku couldn't use his barrier to transform everyone in Japan into sorcerers with the Dormant Transfiguration because he lacks the cursed energy. That method would be incredibly inefficient, so Kenjaku has opted to evolve humanity by fusing them with Master Tengen.

Master Tengen's evolved soul is now the world itself, and merging with it would create beings greater than a sorcerer. However, these would be new beings, "there and not there," meaning there are no boundaries between individuals. Just as happened in Tokyo, evil would spread, and the impurity of a million people would flood the entire world beyond Japan.

According to Master Tengen, the Game uses the players' cursed energy and barriers for a ritual that prepares the humans of Japan for fusion. Through this custom, Master Tengen can be forced to merge with the humans of Japan and "transmit them to the other side." To perform such a ritual, Kenjaku has undertaken specific actions and binding vows, one of which is that he is not the master of the game. This works against Megumi's group because killing Kenjaku will not end the game. Her characteristic attire consists of a light-colored rakusu with a checkered pattern, worn over a yukata with black pants, and her footwear includes tabi and zori sandals. In the anime, the rakusu is depicted as gold with a green checkered pattern, the yukata is blue, her tabi are white, her zori sandals are brown platform sandals, and her hanao (headband) is red.
