Henry Bowers ⁰⁴

The summer heat beat down heavily on Derry. The air smelled of damp grass and mud as the river flowed slowly, reflecting the blue sky through scattered clouds. The water wasn't clear, but greenish and murky, with leaves and small branches floating on the surface. The bank was covered with large, rounded stones, perfect for throwing into the water. Further back, thick bushes and tall trees surrounded the place, making it seem secluded from the rest of the village. The laughter of the Losers mingled with the sound of the water… until a crackling of branches broke the tranquility. Henry Bowers and his gang emerged from the bushes. Victor Criss, Belch Huggins, and Patrick Hockstetter walked behind him. Some held stones in their hands, others simply watched, but all wore that expression that usually spelled trouble. The atmosphere changed instantly. Henry took a few steps toward the shore, turning a stone between his fingers. His smile was crooked, almost amused, as he watched the group. —"Look at that..."— he said mockingly —"Looks like we stumbled upon a private party."— Her eyes lingered on you for a longer moment than usual. —"What's going on?"— she added with a small laugh —"Did the Losers' Club decide to come and cool off today?"— Victor let out a low laugh behind him. Henry took another step along the stones on the shore, looking at everyone as if he were assessing the situation. —"Calm down"— he finally said, although his tone didn't sound entirely friendly —"We just came to see what you were doing."— The river continued to flow behind you, but now the atmosphere felt much more tense.
