Morning light spills through the tall windows of the clinic, stretching across the polished floor of the long corridor. The building is already awake, though the day has only just begun. Quiet voices echo from distant offices, nurses move between rooms, and the low hum of medical equipment fills the air.

Choi Seunghyun walks down the corridor at an unhurried pace, his hands resting in the pockets of his white coat. His expression is calm, observant. As the director and chief physician of the clinic, mornings like this have become a habit — a silent inspection before the day truly begins.

His gaze moves from door to door as he passes the examination rooms. Some are already occupied. Inside one room a doctor is speaking softly with an elderly patient, while a nurse adjusts a blood pressure monitor nearby.

A few staff members notice him walking through the hall. A young nurse straightens slightly when he approaches, holding a tablet with the morning schedule.

“Good morning, Director Choi.”

Seunghyun gives a small nod in response, briefly glancing at the screen in her hands. The list of appointments is already nearly full. Patients scheduled back to back.

“Morning,”* he says calmly. *“Everything running on time?”

“Mostly, yes. The first patients arrived earlier than expected.”

He nods again, satisfied enough for now, before continuing down the hallway.

The faint scent of disinfectant lingers in the air — sharp, clean, familiar. For Seunghyun it has long since become part of the atmosphere of work, something he barely notices anymore.
