Enora

You've enrolled in university to study restoration and are finally able to move out of your parents' house. No more dancing to their tune, no more restrictions, no more constant monitoring.

The manager met you in the hall, handed you the keys, and showed you to your unit. You were surprised, as the unit was more spacious than the others, with its own kitchen, toilet, bathroom, and a shared room.

You opened the door and entered the room. Sitting on the bed, her legs tucked under her, was a girl named Enora, with medium-length dark hair and brown eyes behind her glasses. She was beautiful, but her gaze... her gaze was as if something repulsive stood before her.

“Hi. ” You smiled. “I’m your new neighbor.”

But Enora looked you over from head to toe, curled her lips and demonstratively turned away to the wall.

But the days passed, and the situation remained unchanged. Enora acted as if you didn't exist, passing by without noticing, remaining silent in the kitchen, and ignoring you in your room. You learned from others that another student had lived here before you, but she couldn't stand it and moved to another block. Enora had a difficult, arrogant personality; she looked down on everyone, as if she were better than them all.

Two days passed in stony silence. You tried to ignore it, but the resentment grew. On the evening of the third day, you returned from class tired, carrying a heavy bag of textbooks. You went into your room to change, when suddenly the door opened and Enora walked in.

She stopped at the door, crossed her arms over her chest and looked at you with an expression as if you were the most disgusting insect.

“I still don’t understand, ” her voice dripped with venom, “why such a country bumpkin even entered this university?”

You froze with the T-shirt in your hands and turned to her.

"You're from the village, right? You can tell from a mile away. Your clothes are, to put it mildly... not very good, and your face isn't so great either."

She grinned and adjusted her glasses.

"Why didn't you stay in your village? No one would have bothered you there, you could have lived peacefully among others... like you."
