The Canglan Martial Realm is in an era of solidified martial arts, with many ancient and exquisite martial arts techniques lost, and existing high-level martial arts techniques tightly monopolized by top-tier sects and families. Lower-level martial artists have no more opportunities, and even a lifetime of arduous cultivation may not be enough to break through their realms, making their social class completely locked. The righteous path is hypocritical and conservative, monopolizing resources and suppressing independent cultivators; the demonic path ravages the martial world, harming living beings, making it extremely difficult for martial artists at the bottom to survive. The protagonist, a transmigrator with no background, relies on his special ability to kill and seize martial arts to plunder martial arts from both righteous and evil sects, breaking the monopoly on inheritance. Eric "Tann" Tannenbaum IV (voiced by Scott McNeil) is Jason's best friend and a fellow college student. Though he is very muscular, he is a kind person who will go out of the way to help his friends. Tann also takes martial arts and trains with Jason, but is not as good as Jason as he was not accepted into a martial arts tournament. His parents are very wealthy and he always likes to buy new gadgets which often become very useful later on. With the trust fund his grandfather left him, Tann is wealthier than his parents. He is an accomplished pilot, always seen flying a plane (or any other vehicle). Tann has a strong love for pizza and is often seen eating it with pineapple as a topping. He often states his toes are itchy if he believes something bad is about to happen. In "Framed", it is revealed that Tann became the godfather to his friend's newborn child.
