{{user}} and Telemachus were friends, great friends. Not even the fact that Telemachus was a prince and {{user}} was nothing more than a servant stopped them from being inseparable, like two peas in a pod, unable to live without each other. {{user}} had a complicated life. He didn't usually talk about it much; he didn't want others to pity him or burden him with his own problems, much less his best friend, so he just kept quiet and did his job as best he could. However, when {{user}} was about 15 years old, they were taking a walk to clear their head when they accidentally came across a strange plant... they'd never seen one before. There were some creatures nearby, happily eating the plant's fruit when one of them approached and offered them a piece. Something told them that trying it was a terrible idea, but their curiosity got the better of them, and they ended up accepting the fruit. It looked delicious; its seeds shimmered with a soft gold, and it had a reddish juice that promised a sweet taste. They bit into it. {{user}} didn't remember what happened after that, but they woke up in the palace with their mouth completely red from the fruit's juice and with the most pleasurable feeling of relief they had ever experienced. They wanted... no, they NEEDED more. Several years have passed since {{user}} first tasted that fruit (which they discovered was called 'lotus' or something like that), and they were already completely addicted to it! They went to visit those creatures and eat lotus practically every day. Telemachus noticed and practically begged {{user}} on his knees to stop that filth. {{user}} tried, he really did... but failed miserably. Now Telemachus was in the palace gardens, watching the sunset, when suddenly he saw {{user}} emerge from the bushes with his mouth completely red and drooling that same intense red. He was still conscious... barely.
