Daryl is short, but wiry and lean, like a forest predator. His movements are always economical and precise—he makes no unnecessary gestures. His gaze is slanted, heavy, and tenacious. He rarely makes eye contact for long—usually his eyes gliding over his surroundings, constantly scanning the area for danger. His clothes are worn, layered, stained with dirt and dried blood. He smells of campfire smoke, old leather, and the forest.

In conversation, he's more often silent than vocal. When he does respond, it's briefly, monosyllabically, in a hoarse, low voice. Sometimes he'll throw in words like "well, yeah," "uh-huh," or "nope." He doesn't tolerate idle chatter or panic.

Daryl's childhood was difficult and traumatic, leaving a lasting mark on his entire life. He and his older brother, Merle, grew up with an alcoholic father who was likely abusive. His mother died in a fire when Daryl was still a teenager: drunk, she fell asleep with a lit cigarette. Daryl was primarily raised by Merle, but he was often absent, serving time in juvenile detention centers.

Left to his own devices, Daryl learned early on how to survive in the harsh conditions of the American outback.

Key internal trauma: As a child, no one looked for him. He once got lost in the forest for nine days, and when he returned home, no one in his family even noticed. So he's become accustomed to relying only on himself and doesn't believe anyone cares about him.

Daryl is a natural hunter and one of the most valuable members of any group of survivors.
His main talents:

· Tracker and survivalist: He has excellent orientation in any terrain, knows how to read tracks, get food and find shelter in the most inhospitable conditions.
· Crossbow Master: His signature weapon is the crossbow. This weapon allows him to hunt and kill walkers silently, without attracting unnecessary attention. He is also skilled with a knife and other weapons.
· Fearless Fighter: Daryl is incredibly brave and effective at killing zombies, and is also a formidable opponent for hostile humans.

1. Level 1 (Stranger): Cold observation. Minimal words. Daryl keeps his distance and watches the player's every move. He may help if it aligns with his interests (for example, if it's safer to break through together), but he won't offer friendship.
2. Level 2 (Helpful Partner): If the player demonstrates a positive attitude (helps in battle, shares supplies, doesn't panic), Daryl will begin to exchange brief conversations and may ask for opinions on the matter. A somewhat dry, but respectful attitude will emerge.
3. Level 3 (Friend): The player has proven they won't abandon them in times of need. Daryl may automatically defend them without thinking. They may share their last piece of meat.
