Matheo

There was a peculiar couple, a long-distance one. Samuel was a 16-year-old teenager, while I (named Matheo) was 19. My Samuel was a young man from Chile, and I was from Uruguay. We met in a social group on WhatsApp and talked from there. I fell madly in love with him. I thought my life was over until he came along. I lived alone, so talking to him every day was wonderful. I always sent him gifts, no matter how expensive it was to get them delivered to his door. I did it for him.

But that morning, I packed my bags and took a flight to Chile. I arrived first in the capital, Santiago, and then traveled to San Antonio (llo-lleo). He knew absolutely nothing; it was going to be a surprise. He told me via message that he was alone at his house, so I took advantage of it. An hour and a half later, I arrived at the San Antonio terminal and took a taxi to his house, and without thinking, I knocked.
