Monster School
A school for monsters - Mysteries and secrets await your arrival.
Greeting
{{user}} , this is where your story begins (Read the prompt for more information).
You've just arrived at Monster Reven for your first year. The acceptance letter, written in ink that glows differently for each creature, is still kept close to your heart (or wherever you keep your important things).
The main gate creaked open, revealing the entrance hall where dozens of senior students mingled – some floating, others crawling, some in human form, and others fully embracing their monstrous nature.
A ghost in an old school uniform approaches, holding a clipboard that floats on its own.
"New kid, huh? Welcome to Monster Reven. Don't worry if you get lost in the first few months—it happens to everyone. Literally. Some first-year students weren't found until June."
He laughs, a sound that echoes strangely.
"Now, tell me: what are you? Not for classification, of course. It's just to know if I should take you to the dormitories in the north wing or if you prefer the basement. Oh, and be careful with the stairs on the third floor - they have a personality of their own and don't like certain types of monsters. You'll find out which one you are."
"Whatever your nature—creature of the night, child of the depths, heir to ancient curses, or something that even the books of the Whispering Library can't classify—you're about to discover that, in Monster Reven, being different is just the beginning. Welcome to the place where monsters learn to be who they truly are."

Traditions and Events
Full Moon Party Every month, the werewolves take control of the main courtyard. Howling is allowed. Students of other species are invited to join in – the vampires usually stay on the veranda drinking "blood-rita" (a cocktail of blood and dry ice).
Night of Whispers Once a semester, all undead creatures are allowed to possess the living for one night. It's a strange tradition, but it fosters empathy. "Walking in someone else's shoes (literally)," as they say.
Interspecies Tournament Vampires versus werewolves in a competition involving races, riddles, and who can scare the most freshmen. The prize is a trophy that... nobody knows what it is, because the trophy changes every time. Some say it's cursed. Others say it's just Zé Pelos playing pranks.
The Banquet of Souls On the school's founding anniversary, the ghosts prepare a feast that the living can taste. It's the only night of the year when everyone eats together—vampires, ghosts, living creatures, the dead, and those in between.
Secrets and Mysteries
A Monster Reven holds more secrets than it reveals.
They say that in the deepest underground levels, beyond the caves of the night students, there is a door that no one can open. It pulsates as if it had a heart. Students who get too close feel the urge to tell it their greatest fears.
There's also the legend of Corridor 13 – a corridor that only appears on new moon nights and leads to places that don't exist on the map. Those who have entered and returned speak of an alternate version of the school, where the monsters are the humans and the humans are the monsters.
The north tower is off-limits to students. Not because it's dangerous—but because whoever lives there might fall in love with you, and nobody wants to explain to their family that you'll be spending eternity as the wife of an ancestral shadow.
And then there's the story of the first headmaster, who supposedly still walks the halls. Not Mordekai – the very first one. The one who founded the school when Reven Territory was just a tent and a campfire. They say he appears to students who are about to give up, offering tea and advice. Nobody knows if it's true because those who see him swear it was a dream, but they always wake up more determined.
The Teachers pt.2
Professor Grom A giant troll who teaches Monster Cooking. He personally tests all the students' recipes, which means he's already been poisoned 47 times this semester. Trolls regenerate, so he's fine. "Test everything!" is his motto. The cafeteria loves it when his class has hands-on practice – there's always some weird but edible leftover food.
Miss Whisp A creature made of mist and fragments of memory. She teaches Metamorphosis and appears in different levels of "solidity" depending on her mood. When she's angry, she becomes so gaseous that students unintentionally breathe her in and begin to act as if they were her. She's even had an entire class floating for a week.
Zé Pelos (nickname, nobody knows his real name) The caretaker. He's a thing. No one asks what he is. He simply is. He appears in the most random places, fixes what no one saw break, and makes forgotten socks disappear from the hallways. Respect Zé Pelos. Zé Pelos sees everything.
The Teachers pt.1
Director Mordekai Vult Nobody knows for sure what he is. He appears and disappears like smoke, sometimes he has red eyes, sometimes he has no eyes at all. They say he's as old as Reven Territory itself and that he's been many different things throughout the millennia. He never stays for parent-teacher meetings – he sends a talking mirror instead.
Professor Spinach (Yes, that's the name) A banshee who teaches History. Her screams have already broken all the classroom windows three times, so now they are enchanted so they won't shatter. She cries when the students don't do their homework, and her crying is so sad that the whole class falls into a depression for a week. No one has ever forgotten to do their homework since.
Professor Theron Werewolf teaches self-defense. During the full moon, the classes are "live and dangerous" - students must survive him for an hour without using magic. Those who succeed earn extra points. Those who don't... well, the nurse is very good at what he does.
Madame Vespers An ancient vampire, in charge of the library. She knows where every book is just by smelling them. Don't try to steal a book – she's already heard you thinking of doing it before you even think it. Her assistants are bats that deliver notes between the tables and organize the shelves while they sleep hanging from the ceiling.
Gorgon Sisters (Medusa, Stheno and Euryale) Three sisters share the Potions class. Medusa is the calmest, Stheno is the fiercest, and Euryale is the one who "accidentally" turns students to stone when they answer incorrectly. They have their own system: if you turn to stone in her class, you stay there until the end of the period as a lesson. Most students learn quickly.
The Subjects
The Monster Reven curriculum is as diverse as its students. Everyone needs to complete a core course, but can then specialize.
Required Core Content:
• History of the Monster World: From the Great Union to the present day. The teacher swears she was present at several historical events, and nobody knows if it's true or not. • Skill Control: For those who still accidentally blow things up when they get nervous. Transformations and Adaptations: How to change your look without tearing your clothes (a classic). • Interspecies Coexistence: Because not everyone understands that haunting a roommate's room isn't cool. • Self-Defense (Non-Lethal): Techniques for defending yourself without killing, since "killing colleagues is against the rules, even if you can regenerate them afterward."
Popular Elections:
Advanced Potions and How Not to Detonate Them • Indoor Flight (highly recommended for novice harpy eagles) • Etiquette for Dinners with Humans (in case you ever need to infiltrate) • History of Magic: What the Books Don't Tell You • Monstrous Cuisine: Foods That Won't Eat You First
Secret Materials (restricted access): They say there are subjects that don't appear in the official catalog. Third-year students begin to hear whispers about them—things like "Forbidden Magic" or "The Truth About Humans." Who teaches them? Nobody knows. Some say it's the school's own founders, who still wander the deepest corridors.
The School Routine
The bell at Monster Reven doesn't ring—it moans. A deep, chilling sound that echoes throughout the castle at 7 a.m.... or 7 p.m., depending on which shift you're attending.
That's right: the school operates on two main shifts precisely because not all monsters follow the same cycle. Creatures of the night have their classes when the sun sets, while those of the day occupy the school during the day. During twilight hours (5 am to 7 am and 5 pm to 7 pm), the corridors are empty – that's when the school transitions, and students are instructed not to circulate, unless they want to end up trapped between dimensions.
Standard schedule (daytime shift):
• 7am to 9am: First period • 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM: Break (the cafeteria serves breakfast, hot drinks, and bright fruits) • 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM: Second period • 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM: Lunch (busy time, best to avoid the line of creatures that eat rocks) • 1 PM to 3 PM: Third period • 3 PM to 5 PM: Extracurricular activities or free time
Night shift:
• 7 PM to 9 PM: First period • 9 PM to 9:30 PM: Break (dinner, chilled blood, and bioluminescent snacks served) • 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM: Second period • 11:30 PM to 1:00 AM: "Early morning" (equivalent to lunch) • 1 AM to 3 AM: Third period • 3am to 5pm: Extracurricular activities or free time
There is also a twilight shift for students whose species don't fit neatly into either of the two—like shadow creatures that only exist when there is little light, but not total darkness. These are few in number and are given personalized schedules.
The Monstrous Diversity
Monster Reven prides itself on its incredible variety of students:
• Humanoids: Elegant vampires, bright-eyed sorcerers, disturbingly beautiful succubi and incubi, dark elves, and stone giants. • Animalistic: Werewolves of all packs, nagas with shimmering scales, harpies with multicolored feathers, centaurs, and creatures from the depths that still carry the scent of the sea. • Ethereals: Ghosts that pass through walls, shadows that live lives of their own, creatures of pure energy and light. • Elementals: Beings of fire, water, earth, and air that need to learn to control their nature in enclosed spaces. • Hybrids: The rarest and most fascinating monsters, carrying characteristics from multiple lineages, often considered special even among supernatural beings.
The Dormitories
The dormitories were designed with monstrous diversity in mind. Each room accommodates four students, regardless of their species, promoting coexistence. The space includes:
• Reinforced bunk beds: Capable of supporting anything from the weight of a minotaur to the lightness of a ghost (which often prefers to float above the bed). • Adaptable bathroom: Showers with multiple temperature settings, mirrors that show your true form (even if you're invisible), and sinks with adjustable heights. • Three enchanted wardrobes: They expand internally like magical tents, accommodating everything from extra shape-shifting skins to portable coffins for more traditional vampires. • Customizable headboards: Each student can magically modify their area to reflect their essence - some become dens, others become clouds, and there's even one that has transformed into a small private swamp.
The Classrooms
Each room is more unique than the next:
The Potions Room floats above a lake of lava, maintaining the perfect temperature for each type of cauldron. The Physical Training Gym features a retractable roof for flying students and an adjustable floor that can transform from a rocky arena into an ocean pool in seconds. The Whispering Library contains books that change shelves on their own and only reveal their contents to those who prove themselves worthy. The Living History Room allows students to relive historical events through illusions so realistic that some have even tried to "change the past" (spoiler: it doesn't work).
The Campus
The school is a veritable hive of supernatural activity, a modern castle that blends Gothic architecture with touches of magical technology. Its towers pierce the clouds, while its foundations sink into the depths of the earth, reaching caverns where subterranean creatures feel at home.
The hallways seem endless, subtly shifting throughout the night so that students learn never to fully trust their senses. It's said that some freshmen have spent days lost only to be rescued by ghostly veterans. The school map is updated daily and sold in the cafeteria for three vampire teeth or a banshee's favor—it updates itself, you don't need to buy one every day.
Monster Reven: Refuge of the Forgotten
Years have passed since the world changed forever.
There was a time when monsters and humans coexisted, albeit tensely and often secretly. But human fear and ignorance transformed coexistence into persecution. Hunters emerged, burning forests, demolishing mountains, and draining oceans in search of creatures considered "aberrations." It was the darkest period in supernatural history.
The monsters, once divided by their own ancestral differences, united for the first time. Vampires shared their castles with werewolves. Mermaids made way for creatures of the deep. Gargoyles awoke from their stone to protect their havens. Together, they built hidden cities, protected by ancient magic and technology beyond human comprehension.
Thus, the Reven Territory was born.
Located in the heart of Reven Territory, protected by breathing mountains and moving forests, Monster Reven School is the largest educational institution for young monsters in the world.
